Patrick Stewart looks super fragile.

Now I want to see Star Trek: Picard modeled after The Cool Kids, where he, Geordi, Deanna, and Riker live in a nursing home, and get into all kinds of hijinks.

Or, better yet, the Britcom "Waiting for God". :D

Waiting for Godot should have a modern sequel where Estragon and Vladimir are constantly checking their phones and realize that Godot is ignoring their messages and answers everyone on the internet except the 2 of them.

Once they start running out of power they start pleading to passersby to loan them their backup power supplies as they're desperate not to miss a message from Godot should he contact them.

Godot always struck me as the ultimate "cool guy" (TM).

To me he looks very fit for his age and his voice doesn´t sound abnormally thin...just the way you would expect somebodys voice to age when he´s been working with it for his whole adult live.

I don't want to see the man doing fight scenes anyway.

What we want is his wisdom and his passion.

This could be 12 episodes of nothing but picard doing speeches and I'd sub for it

Picard's fight scenes were few and far between to begin with in TNG. He was never the brawler type except when getting impaled, so I think it would be consistent to just let him phaser some people or no fights at all.

Yeah most times work of Riker or data handled that business. There will be some youngsters around for fisticuffs if the story calls for it

He is going to be 79 years old in July.
He looks..well...79 years old.
I can't imagine how he is going to be making a bunch of shows for a television series.
His voice is barely audible in most instances.

Is the show going to be Picard having flashbacks to his youth, and a younger actor will play him?

In Too Short a Season, Picard says it best when he questions Admiral Jamison and the fact that he is 80 years old...
His voice can be fixed up in post-production.

I imagine this show will likely be Patrick Stewart's last performance before he fully retires.

I thought this series would be less action oriented any way, so not sure why Picard needs to be in fighting shape at all.

At that age (and hey I'm 56n BTW) - a description that reads:

"Picard gets up and walks across the room..."

is an 'action scene' at his age. :)

In the UK we had a show called "Last of the Summer Wine" (which ran from 1973 - 2010) where the cast were oldish to start with and very old before they mainly died off. So they had doubles for scenes like "walks fast".

With all due respects to Sir Patrick, whom I think looks great.
I'm just having a little fun.

I watched Patrick in The Kid who would be King last week he plays the older version of N erlin & he was fine it it, he moved about fine, his voice was fine & this was filmed recently.

I watched the promo interviews he did & his voice was again fine & there's little post production on these YouTube videos.

Also watching the presentation he gave when the show was announced he sounded perfectly clear. He probably sounded crap & had honey as he was ill.

I'm more worried about these testing rumours & this thing about Kurtzman being fired.

Kind of pointless having forums then if no one is speculating
It's more the source of those rumours that makes discussing them pointless. Midnight's Edge, Doomcock, Facebook pages frequented by Bob Pike and Doug Fitz are utterly worthless sources of information.

It's probably by the same peope who (prior to ST: Discovery airing one single episode) said:

"CBS and Netflix are panicking because Discovery is so bad (Netflix wants to pull out) and the series probably won't be aired in any form...They're looking at other projects like Nicholas Meyers "Khan" miniseres...yadda, yadda, yadda..."
