Star Trek Original Series Set Tour

Chris PikE

Commander
Red Shirt
So I recently had one of the most enjoyable weekends of my life. I made the trek to Ticonderoga to visit the Original series set tour.
The place is a prop lovers dream. Met up with James Cawley , Doug Drexler, Denise and Michael Okuda, Chris Hunter and...William Shatner.

Hey, you have the kind of features that lend well to the camera! In other words, you look believable as a starship captain. Me? I'd barely pass as one of the lithium miners from "Mudd's Women". (Imagine a middle aged Ernie Douglas from "My Three Sons".)

Congrats on the photo op with "the Shat'" himself!

A friend from my childhood, Kyle, recently visited the exhibit located in Georgia. Looks almost identical.

Love it. Thanks for posting! :bolian:

I can't afford the VIP treatment, but enjoyed my third visit to James Cawley's TOS set tour. It gets better each time!

I couldn't afford it either...I won tickets on Shatner's birthday...a very RARE example of good luck.

I'll be going to the convention in August, this will be my third or fourth year. It's my favorite place on the planet. I can't afford the VIP stuff, sadly, but they are always good about there being different tiers of affordability. It's Mecca for TOS fans.

I like how they are constantly making improvements and doing little tweaks. One of my favorite Easter eggs was when they had a certain infamous cookbook in Kirk's quarters.

I go regularly to Trekonderoga, and sometimes special events.

One of my favorite special events they had was when they had an authors day. It was pretty sparsely attended as I recall, but it was a wonderful opportunity to talk craft with some of the finest Trek authors.

Great, great pictures. You do indeed look like a starship captain! (I look like Droxine.**)
Darn, was this Bill's June visit announced a while back? I wanted to go. Anyone know if he has another one scheduled?

** this is a little joke

Many Thanks indeed! Well he has been there several times...I would imagine he will make a return visit!

Joke or not, you're now obligated to show all of us what you look like. Or, you could just ignore me or refuse...

I was there last year for the first Shatner weekend, and it was incredible. Truly a dream come true. I missed out on The Experience while it was open, and I promised myself I wasn't missing out on this one. I got to be on the bridge with William Shatner briefly. I wanted to come back this year, but it just didn't work out.

I would encourage you that if you love TOS, go visit it is so worth it.
