Hello, Welcome!

We recently completed Memorial Line-by-Line- thread in the Voyager forum!

For any unfamiliar with our "game," you are asked to post only a single line (defined as one character speaking without interruption by another character) per message. You can post as often as you like, but someone else must post a line in between your posts.

Our "rule" is that if the episode has a "To Be Continued..." on the end, it is done in a single thread, but if it's just an arc of related episodes (like the Dominion Occupation Arc on DS9 or the Xindi Arc on ENT), each episode is a separate thread.

Here's a link to the transcript: http://www.chakoteya.net/NextGen/121.htm

Get ready for a story, here we go!

Captain's log, stardate 41798.2. We have been ordered by Starfleet to proceed to the Lorenze Cluster and investigate the disappearance of a light cruiser, USS Drake, which was in that system trying to unravel a mystery of its own which began when recent long range probes indicated that all intelligent life on the planet Minos has disappeared.

Salesman: "You haven't seen half of what this beauty can do!"

PICARD: Number 1?

Why? I do not recall where in the OP it is a rule that lines must go in order of the script verbatim, in which case it makes for not as much of a game but just parroting a script verbatim?

Or am I missing a point?

^^Thank you in advance.

@Cutie McWhiskers

Hi Cutie. If you check earlier line-by-line games, you’ll see we do it in order. Sorry it wasn’t clear.

Actually, some people try and do it from memory and not use the transcript.

Yeah, I consider it a "reading" of the script, like a group of actors would do in rehearsal, but none of us have assigned roles. I'm sorry I wasn't clear in my first post.

Anyway, on with the show....

RIKER: No help from their communications log. The Drake reported arriving at Minos and then wasn't heard from again.

DATA: The citizens of Minos gained fame during the Ersalrope wars as arms merchants. They manufactured sophisticated and highly advanced weaponry.

LAFORGE: We are approaching the planet Minos, sir.

RIKER: Whatever happened to the Drake, happened quickly, otherwise a man like Rice would have reported again
