Looking for some ideas of what game to buy for PC or for PS4 but hoping for some recommendations mainly for PC.

I want some games that are like Tomb Raider with a strong female lead.

    Any ideas out there?

Assassin's Creed III: Liberation or Assassin's Creed Syndicate (Although Syndicate is a brother-sister combo, you can do all the non-main story stuff with either character)

When you say Tomb Raider, do you mean an action-focused genre, or are you talking about the representation of women like that? If it's the latter, I'd suggest Life is Strange, which is more adventure.

    EDIT - Mirror's Edge.

When I said Tomb Raider I meant more an actiony exploration type game. I have Life Is Strange but never got around to finishing it.

I love Mirror's Edge and have that too.

I'll check out Ass Creed 3.

Do you like Uncharted? Chloe is the lead in Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.

Interestingly, I just recently started playing a game called Submerged. It's more or less an exploration game set within a post-apocalyptic city where the lead character, a young sister, is going through some tasks to save her brother. There's no combat, but plenty of climbing and exploration via boat as the city is flooded. If you can get it on sale, and it does go on sale often from what I've gathered over the years of having it on my list, I'd recommend it. It's nothing too complicated, but it's relaxing and gorgeous.

ReCore came to mind. It's an action adventure/platformer/open world exploration game from the makers of Metroid Prime.

A Plague Tale: Innocence is a more recent action adventure/stealth/puzzler.

There's also an upcoming PS4 game called Control with a strong female lead. It looks like a unique game and will be released in August.

I'm getting that one on Saturday I have the first 3 games and Uncharted 4. So yes I kind of do like those.

I've also been playing Horizon Zero Dawn and am at the part where you have to take over your first machine.

Control doesn't excite me because it just looks like Saint's Row Telekinesis powers in a large world and that's about all you do in that game. The trailers look good but it's mostly TK throwing inside confined spaces.

Submerged is on my steam wishlist

Oh I got Uncharted The Lost Legacy and like it.

Also discovered a game called Submerged, much fun. No combat pure exploration and has Aussie roots.

Actually this reminds me of the thread I made where I was wishing for a game much like this and wow found one. Also "Everrybody's Gone To The Rapture" is a story based game. Unfortunately not available over here on Steam unless you get it gifted to you.

This might be a good place to start if you're looking specifically for PC action games with female leads.

Failing that I can probably think of a few I can personally recommend: -
    • It's a bit of an oldie, but I will never not recommend 'Beyond Good and Evil'. Heavy on story, some exploration in a quasi-Zelda/Metrovania-esque sense, limited but fun and functional combat mixed in with stealth and some puzzle solving. Also, you get to take wildlife photos...
    • If you're into the so called "walking simulators" like 'Everybody's Gone To The Rapture' then you might also enjoy 'Gone Home' as the PC is female and most of the plot is centred around her sister.
    • I've not played it myself yet, but I've heard very good things about 'Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice'.
    • The majority of Telltale's 'The Walking Dead' games features a female player character, though for the full experience one really ought to play them all, start to finish.
    • Pretty much every Bioware RPG can have a female lead thanks to character creation (some of the more recent ones are much more action oriented.) KOTOR, Jade Empire, Dragon Age & Mass Effect being the standouts.

I loved "Everybody's gone to the rapture" and played that out on PS4 but can't get it on steam due to the store not setting a price in Australia, that one I'll have to get gifted to me. All the other titles you mentioned I have discovered and have on a short list. Thanks for confirming my choices "yay"

Assassin's Creed Odyssey and Anthem have good female lead options. And I'm pretty sure Ms. Pac-Man is available in the Playstation store. ;)

So, I finished it this past weekend. It's a rather short game, so I hope you didn't have to pay full price for it. Going to see if I can get the other pieces of the story scattered about, although what's annoying is that when climbing, there's no quick way of getting around, which can be particularly annoying if for some reason, you keep going in circles when taking the wrong way to get to something. You have to climb all the way back down the building before you go back to your boat.

Yeah that put me off a bit but honestly this was just like my dream game come true it was relaxing and easy going, I didn't have to rush and not bother with fighting or shooting this is the kind of exploration game I want but my dream game would be something much bigger with more movement options like some of the stuff Lara Croft or Aloy can do.

Oh and devs lied...... I did find a way to die. SW corner of the map very thin building with 3 secrets on it, there's a ledge if you walk up to every now and then it lets you walk off and you fall through the map.

Yeah, in the end I gave up on the collections because it was just too tedious. The map isn't detailed enough for that kind of thing as I wish it would let you zoom in for more accuracy for when there are multiple items on a building. Still a fun game in the end though.

You could zoom the telescope. If on keyboard / mouse it was the scroll wheel. Not sure what it was on controller.

Yeah, but I only found that useful up to a certain point. Great for flagging things down, but it's getting to them that's the problem. The map just isn't high enough resolution to see where exactly they are on the buildings. The map at that resolution just ends up looking busy. It didn't make the collecting very fun.

That's fair enough. I actually found it a bit hard going too with the map function myself having to backtrack a few times to find a secret I had missed the first time around.

Still as a change from the usual I found it a nice change from traditional games that have combat and the fact there was no artificial time limit made it feel more enjoyable.
