In this case I believe we can reduce the expository output by a geometric factor in order to enhance the narrative acceleration drive without losing a significant degree of synaptic immersion.

Nice to see Windows is still a piece of shit even in the 24th century.

Of course. Otherwise there'd never be any incentive to upgrade. So the latest version will always fix whatever was wrong with the previous version but still have new thing wrong with it. ;)

Even though I'm talking about besides Windows, ever since I caught onto this pattern, I always make sure I have two versions of different software on my computer.

That article has some interesting speculations:
This footage may have been made just for the upfront presentations, and final uniform design may be different. They claim something similar happened with Discovery.
We may not see much of starfleet in this series so they didn't invest too much time and money on starfleet uniforms.

I can't wait to see the whole scene, where Picard tells the young office to get a life!

Technobabble only became a thing in the 90s during the Berman era. Trek survived a good 25ish years not needing to have a hard scientific basis for events. Coincidentally, Treknobabble came along at roughly the same time as in other science fantasy franchises -- midichlorians, anyone?

How come? He was in Of Gods and Men and nearly was in Renegades but had to pull out, plus voiced Harry in Online (finally a Captain!)

Those are fan films and a video game voiceover. When he was in VOY he was almost fired for being late all the time and an all-around screw-up, and the only thing that saved him was some stupid People magazine article calling him one of the 100 sexiest actors or some crap.

Huh, so the tease trailer came out, what we learned..
    Picard "Was" and admiral
Led a rescue fleet, I'm guessing to Romulas, now before or after the big bada boom is a guess.. but since spock knew aobut the nova, I'm guessing that picard atleast tried to do a before, hopefully with the Enterprise E..
So, something went tits up, and picard left starfleet.. either he found something out, or bit emotional toll... My thinking he found out something about starfleet, maybe that they caused the nova? accident of course.. genisis torpedo maybe?

So, some answers, but more questions.. :)

One thing I keep thinking is Picard should have listening to Kirk. Don't ever let them promote you or do anything to take you away from that bridge. While there you can make a difference.

Looking forward to a cameo of the force ghost of shatner telling Picard off.

    Note Force Ghost

    Note Shatner not Kirk

    Note shatner played by Pine

I’m not getting from the trailer that Picard’s promotion to Admiral was the problem. It’s more about what happened to his rescue fleet.

I'm having flashbacks to the finale of Red Dwarf X, in which they reminisce about the ending of Red Dwarf VIII.
