I have never seen an episode of police squad. But that is really my kind of humor

 

They make a joke about that, too!

 

BTW, has anybody ever seen the TV show the original Police Squad was actually spoofing?

Good heavens, I thought Police Squad was just a general spoof of the old school police procedurals, but that's almost 1:1 with jokes added.

 

Right? I thought the same thing, but the wiki for the series mentions M Squad, so apparently somebody knew about it.

 

Same thing with Airplane! and Zero Hour. Honestly, I think Airplane! is structured better as a film by eliminating the psychologist scene at the beginning and giving the dialog to the main characters, and splitting out the kid to being a random passenger rather than their's.
