It sounds Fleming'esque (I mean partly it is obviously) At the very least sounds like the sort of title you could imagine them coming up with for a non Fleming Bond novel.

I can just see the conversation between Tom Baker and Matt Smith now.
"What do you think of the title?"
"Which one? There appear to be two, Eclipse and Shatterhand."
"But you see that's where everyone's mistaken. It isn't two separate titles, but rather one whole title. Shatterhand Eclipse. Now what do you suppose that means?"

Surely it would be a conversation between Daniel Craig and Sean Connery? ;)

I thought he played a compelling character in Mission Impossible 6. Cavil has the looks and the build, I wouldn't mind his casting.

I'd imagined Jon Hamm as Superman, probably would've been better than Cavill.

Oh, that is awesome! I love both of those shows (and I'm a really sad Fleabag is over) and she has really proved to me that she's a terrific writer. I'm very curious to see what she brings to the script.

I also hope this leads to a role in the film itself. :D

L3-37 was the best part of the movie.

She's a great writer and exactly the kind of creative shot in the arm the franchise needs. So good on Craig.

I just hope it's the same "script polish" Whedon gave Twister.

If it's confirmed this is great news, as @CorporalClegg says, the writing on the franchise really needs something new!

Well here's the Official press release:
    https://www.mi6-hq.com/sections/articles/bond-25-official-press-release-jamaica-reveal-day?id=04481
And here's the announcement that was streamed live on You Tube:

They still haven't come up with a title yet and most of the cast news is what was known already. Though it was news to me that Jeffrey Wright was back as Felix Leiter.
In the video they mention that the film starts with Bond in Jamaica, no longer part of MI6, I'm calling it now, Léa Seydoux will be killed in the pre-credit scene and that will bring Bond back into the secret service

    ^ Actually,
they also released an official plot synopsis that says Bond returns to service when Leiter shows up and asks him to help locate a kidnapped scientist.

Also, I would just like to say at this time: Ana de Armas.

The whole thing just feels a complete mess at this point. If Barbara Broccoli and co weren't so entranced by Daniel they'd have cut him loose after Spectre and we'd probably have another film close to being finished by now. I can't believe they don't even have a title. (There was a weird rumour going round--that quickly vanished--that they were going to call it Dr No!)

I can't help feeling these delays are all down to DC

Spectre made almost a billion dollars. What would their motivation be for cutting Craig loose?

Die Another Day made a shit load of money but they still let Pierce go because it was the right time to do so, not forgetting that Pierce was more than happy to come back, unlike Daniel who has to be dragged kicking and screaming to the set.

Maybe all that stuff he said about cutting his wrists, eating glass and wiping his ass with his contract. I don't think it's unheard of for an actor who talks like that to be cut loose. I don't think it's unheard of for anyone who publicly talks about their job in such a way to get hostilities from their boss.

It tends to be sort of a tradition for Bond actors to go one film too many.

Because they also want the next movie to make that much. Too many Spectres and people start to lose interest.

Feel like the problem with Daniel Craig is 'where do we go from here?' Craig's Bond was an answer to the grittier action hero, and his tenure has done a lot for the franchise. Obviously no two Bonds are the same, but Craig's feels like the greatest deviation, so replacing him is going to be very tricky. Going for another gritty Bond might feel a little predictable at this point, but going another way could alienate those fans won over by Craig.

The Broccoli's didn't trust the market to search for a new OO7; and also this process is quite thorough and would take time to re-imagine would their Bond would be for a new audience. Also, they were shopping the franchise to a new home (Now Universal/Comcast joining with United Artist), and wanted their biggest money maker to stay along for the ride. Is it possible Craig might do another one after Bond 25 if that one is a roaring success? I don't think any of his non Bond films has done well... maybe with the exception of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo; he probably should ride this pony until he makes A View to a Kill type.
