Spoilers Supernatural season 14

'Chuck as the series Big Bad' definitely has me interested in the final season. I love when they mess with our expectations, and there are so many ways the show could take this plotline.

For instance:

Is Chuck just pretending to be a jerk?

Is there really only one Chuck in the multiverse?

Is Chuck's sister also a one-off in the multiverse? If so, how does that work with Lucifer's back story in the Michaelverse?

Is The Empty just for one universe's supernatural dead or all of them? Could Billy be working with her counterparts in other universes?

Could this all be a lead-up to the creation of our universe (meaning a place lacking in demons, monsters, etc.)?

We already saw our universe. Remember the episode were the brothers found themselves as the actors who play them and "Supernatural" was just a tv show.

That's still not our universe, because Misha Collins is dead in it.

I agree that having more intimate stakes, or at least somewhat less apocalyptic stakes, were better. Like closing the gates of hell, saving Dean from the Mark, the British Men of Letters war. Season 8 in particular is a favorite of mine... it was a great jolt to the mythology of the series.

But going in knowing it's the last season and making it apocalyptic again is understandable, and acceptable to me.

I’m sure it won’t be “apocalyptic” in a way people think. It’ll have a twist on it.

"The Monster at the end of the book", as the title of the first episode Chuck appears in and him saying that he is a cruel and capricious god could hint at the possibility that it may have been Kripke who had the idea and may have already toyed with the thought of making Chuck the final villain in case Supernatural was renewed for more seasons.

It may have already been in the plans for a very long time.

Dear GOD, how did I NOT know this existed? It's apparently been around for a year but I just saw it on TV for the first time today.

Good news on both counts. It sounds like they're planning a comprehensive wrap up.

Just need to vent: I really am not feeling good about this upcoming season. Maybe it's nerves. Maybe it's the fact so few series actually end well. Part of it is that this series has been declining, creatively, since about season 10. Part of it is it's vilifying God. On the flip side I am hoping they end it in such a way that a solid film franchise (with original stars) can rise up about 5 years after the final episode airs. That's all I wanted to say. Thank you.
