Perhaps Pike mini series is better?

So, a lot of fans really want to see a Pike centered spin off. I'm one of them. However, reading this article (https://www.trektoday.com/content/2019/04/mount-on-the-possibility-of-pikes-return/) I'm getting the idea from Anson Mount that he loves the concept but isn't looking forward to such a long time filming.

And honestly, with S3 of Disco coming, the new Picard show and the S31 show, I don't want Star Trek to become oversaturated, like Star Wars was almost becoming. So, perhaps instead of a 14 episodes series, would you like the idea of a 6 episode miniseries set on Enterprise? A short story, told in 6 episodes that has a beginning, middle and end. No setup for a sequel or anything. Self contained.

Right now, that sounds more interesting to me than an actual longrunning Pike show.

In my mind if they do a Pike/Spock/Enterprise series, it would be more like The Orville, with self-contained Planet of the Week adventures. Maybe that's just because of, well, TOS itself having created the genre.

Not gonna lie, What I really want is a Pike/Spock/Number One Short Trek filmed on James Cawley's TOS sets. I need it.

I'm even open to several spaced-out over time tele-movies. Why not. They have their own streaming service, need to fill it with something for Trek fans anyways.

This would be cool, but Paramount Pictures won't likely be willing to let go of Trek to allow it (they have the exclusive rights to make Trek movies in perpetuity)

Paramount talked about expanding the Trek cinematic universe (something about a "SEAL Team Six of the Federation"), but that was prior to Beyond's near-failure and big changes at the top. That even something like Star Wars can't make the yearly movie gig work says it all.

Why not a format like "The Librarians" had (if RR is here :adore:)? May be 10 (ok, 8) episodes per year, 40-50 minutes each, self-contained but slightly allied by the arc in the beginning and the end of the each season?
Short Treks are too small for such great actors!

I've seen a couple of conversations about how viewers thought it would've been cool if SUCH SWEET SORROW had been re-edited into a two-hour movie, which got me thinking about how CBS could produce a made-for-CBS All Access movie about Pike and his Enterprise. Based off the performance metrics, it could either go to a limited series or a full-on series.

Personally, it doesn't matter to me which route they take, I just want more Pike.

Well, actually - don't do a Short Trek. That's not enough. :D

Why 1 story stretched over 6 episodes, when there could be 6 stories?

Also very cool.

Actually, I would totally watch those! One every year, for a few years? Three or four movies? Totally awesome.

I don't think there's any "perhaps" about it.

3-4 episodes, very well done, would be epic.

I'd find a mini-series, if well done, to be much more preferable than trying to do another starship series. Even with Pike.
