My rewatch of Babylon 5

I've decided to start re-watching a series I had forgotten about, anyone remember Babylon 5? it came out the year NG ended (1994)

Wanna bet?

Love B5 - warts and all...

Wonderful characters, wonderful stories (with some clunkers, of course) and while I'm not a big fan of "arc" story telling - it worked here.

Never heard of it - i doubt many people on a forum like this have.

Are you joking? Hmm maybe you should research Babylon 5 vs Star Trek and find out that many people have watched it.... One thing I love about both star trek and babylon 5 ....... open-minded philosophies

I'm pretty sure @JoeZhang is pulling your leg. :rommie:

You'll find there are many B5 fans on this board. And we periodically have someone start a watch-through thread, which enables us to re-experience the fun of watching it through fresh eyes. We'll try mightily to avoid spoiling future events as you go along. So much of B5 was interconnected, with season 1 laying a foundation that paid off richly for the rest of the series. The characters developed in unexpected directions, and decisions had consequences.

It wasn't perfect by any means, but many of us believe that the end result was an enjoyable saga that's well worth watching many times! Hope you too enjoy your visit to our last, best hope...

I watched it when it came out, but it's been so long ago..
So glad you mentioned that about the first season .. i was wondering if i should skip ahead to season 2... but now I think I'll stick with it. :-)

Did you search in all forums? This thread was moved after all. Maybe you could ask a mod to rename this thread after you've decided on what aspects of B5 you'd like to discuss that differentiate it from the other one. At the moment, they look to be very similar in content -- a first-time viewing experience sort of discussion.

Perhaps the threads can be merged?

All the best on your rewatch! I did as much a few months ago.

Season 1 was surprisingly watchable. When I first discovered B5, it was with my brother on Saturday afternoons. It never aired on prime time in New Zealand. I think we got into it around the end of S4. Bit of an odd jumping in point but we were young and weren't paying that much attention.

When I gave the series a proper go it was renting VHS videos and they only stocked S2 onwards. It was enough to get the jist of the arc. It was only on my last rewatch this year I watched S1 proper. As I said, it was surprisingly watchable (there were some real clunkers - let's not kid ourselves).

I'd love to see this series remastered - not holding any hope out of course.
