I am asking myself if there isn´t time for Trek movie without any established characters (Like that "Beginning" idea). Although it would be terrible risk. I mean, NuTrek is in shambles and I don´t see the new shows becoming cultural phenomenon (or even cinematic for that matter) anytime soon.

Will there be lots and lots of swearing, blood, and sex?

I certainly hope so. Otherwise, how would we know it was a Tarantino movie? ;)

Does anyone seriously still think this movie is happening?

I have my doubts but whatshisname at Paramount recently confirmed that it's still a thing they want to do. I think we can't know what is happening behind the scenes. Soon both Tarantino and JJ will be available so I guess at one point we will know what's up.

Paramount needs money and regrets losing the Trek cashcow to CBS. That's about the extent of Midnight Edge's truth IMO. The rest is fanboy bitterness over how the franchise is handled under CBS and then Bad Robot.

Not long back, the mountain's studio head even came out and used Trek & Tarantino's name in the same breath, to get press coverage for their future plans. I don't doubt a film of some description will be on the big-screen at some point, at the same time there's Star Trek programming on the small.

I suspect if Tarantino's still interested, Paramount will be.

Tbh, the feeling I get from both him and others in the production (eg Kadin) is that they hope there aren't more kelvin trek movies because they kind of perceive them as a hindrance (for their shows), in spite of the fact they are making TV trek now because of the success of JJ's trek, that they more or less admit is the model they are following and trying to imitate a bit.

Admit it. You cried when Gamora died in Infinity War, didn't you? ;)

I feel Frakes just wants to make Star Trek - TV, movies, he's not picky. He spoke of how he liked Pine n Urban in those movies, specifically w extra praise for Urban's portrayal of Bones

Yes, Kurtzman is heading up CBS Star Trek efforts so it's easy to compare. Kurtzman misses mark a lot IMO, but to each their own. They have a great opportunity to do a Pike Enterprise series, Anson Mount has been great as Pike, again IMO but don't feel it will come to be

I understand that Daniel's post is commenting on a recurring aspect of Tarantino's directing style. It was also made 8 months ago.

Other than the fact characters Uhura and Gamora were played by the same actor, I don't understand why anything regarding a character death in Infinity War is here at all.

And, while the "Admit it. You cried... " part may have some humorous or other meaning understood by both you and Daniel, presented here without context it seems like an unnecessarily personal comment, having little (if anything) to do with the content of his post.

Taken all together, these leave me unsure of what the actual point or purpose of your post might be.

Seriously with the cookie cutter mediocre writers like Kurtzman and Fuller and Abrams ruining Star Trek it would be great to get someone talented doing a film.

It was an attempt at humor. Like he has a thing for Zoe Saldana's feet? Hence the winky smiley. Jeez! Relax, Maynard.
