Spoilers General Disco Chat Thread

I've got a feeling L'Rell will be showing up in the Section 31 show, and if there ever is a Pike show, she's pretty much his contact to the Klingon Empire.

I'm curious to see if the two animated shorts coming up in the next month or so, are going to give us details unsaid in the last episode or if they are going to be somewhat of a preview to the Picard and Section-31 shows.

I read the Tilly novel. It's a cute story for a cute character, but it was really beneath Una McCormack's usual work. Felt a bit like she was doing a job. Her Cardassia novels are way more engaging and better written. As an editor, I find it hard to look past grammar mistakes when the substance of the story is lacking.
She might care more about the DS9 material.
I don't think that the writers are going to be able to resist the urge to give us an update about what the Klingons are up to in the 33rd century.
I hope we see more about the Rihannsu (Romulans). There won't be any canon violations inherent in the DSC crew meeting the Rommies, now that they're no longer pre-TOS.

I believe each show will have its own Short Treks. Kurtzman said he expects Short Treks for Picard and Lower Decks. All the current Short Treks are for Discovery.

I kinda read that differently, at the time the question was asked, he was referring to the four shorts that were already made when saying "the current ones".

I don't think the two Animated ones coming up have been defined as to when or where they take place yet.
They could actually be part of the Animated Trek Series being made for all we know.
(kind of a preview for them)

It's still odd to me that the movies chose to destroy both Vulcan and Romulus. I mean, what do they have against these distant cousins?!?! Within that universe, it would've been interesting to see "unification" happen by having Vulcan refugees and Romulan refugees come together as one, and seeing what would arise from that.

JJ wanted a planet explosion just like in his favorite IP..., Star Wars.
He actually managed to get two in the same movie and outdo Lucas.

But then JJ also got to make a Star Wars movie and managed to destroy an entire star system as well as blow up a planet.

We actually share two interests: love of blowing up planets and the Beasties.
