I like the bridge. It felt like an updated version of the TOS bridge but also a descendant of the NX-01 bridge.
As a reboot Discovery would be perfectly fine.
Look at what Enterprise did with the sets. They gave them updates in texture and function. I'm not saying do it exactly like that show did but a bit further even. But what Discovery has done is a total departure. It's much larger and the layout (despite what so many here are saying) is not the same.
How's this?Has anyone posted TOS bridge and DSC 1701 Images taken at the same angle/perspective?
What would you do with hd tv and 4k screen that show up detail, would you have the 60s bridge not touched for modern tv
Just to clarify, are you saying what ENT did in the design of the NX-01, or with the Defiant in "In a Mirror Darkly"?
I never noticed that until it was brought up here. It does seem to be something of a safety hazard, but it also allowed for some nice moments between Spock and Kirk:the too-low-to-be-practical bridge railings, which I'd think would annoy some folks.
ETA: Could there be any more shadows on the bridge?
One could imagine that among the myriad of colorful buttons, there must be at least one, that dims the lights. From a workplace environment standpoint, I’d much rather do long shifts on the TOS bridge than the new one.
What's funny to me is that in a world where the Abrams movies never happened, I probably wouldn't be very happy with this bridge, but as things are, I love it. I've accepted the need to make a few changes for the sake of modernness.
So you would update it with little touches here and there so going against Tos bridgeDefiant...I also did like the nx-01 sets ...liked the industrial feel of the sets...
TOS looks great on my 4k. But I would not want it expect the sets to be exactly like TOS......Though they looked good on ENTERPRISE...there could have been more updates. Monitors, proper door labelling etc...
None of which would be sufficient to make the original design look plausible today.
So you would update it with little touches here and there so going against Tos bridge
