Easy one to miss, but I happened to catch Dee Bradley Baker being interviewed of the Star Wars Show stream and he seemed to offhanded confirm that 1) The Bad Batch arc is indeed part of the upcoming episode (albeit in a slightly modified form from the reels we've seen) and that 2) Everything else is new. So by implication, no Utapau arc.

I call this good news since as I've stated before, 12 episodes isn't much time to round off the series in a coherent way given where it left off. So if nothing else that means the odds of getting the "Ahsoka's Walkabout" episodes just seem to have gone up. I might also speculate that the modification to the bad Batch arc might be to somehow lead into the plot thread of Rex et al removing their chips down the line.

In Filoni's interview he also mentioned having to retool some of the stories based on what was done later on Rebels (and that he considers them improvements, by-the-by.)

The panel is now...and Ahsoka's walkabout in 1313 confirmed.

ETA: looks like they cut out the potential boyfriend character seen in previous unfinished assemblies and replaced it with a pair of sisters. I like that they're not just reloading the old asset files and hitting "render" (yes, I know it'd be more complicated than that, even if they did that minimum effort) but actually revisiting the material from a storytelling POV too.

Yeah, I didn't expect them to show quite that much footage. Admittedly most of the clips were from scenes we've already seen before in one form or another, thus not terribly spoilery, but still very generous.

My previous suspicions seem to be bearing out in that they're not just dropping three random arcs, but slightly re-engineering three specific and relevant arcs into a single coherent overarching story to hit all the beats they need to in order to round out the show and get certain characters (especially Rex & Ahsoka) to where they were in season 5/6 to where then need to be for the finale.

Oh and Ray Park mo-capped the Maul/Ahsoka fight...so that's a thing that happened...

That and the Mandalorian using a model for the ship are my favorite bits of news from Celebration so far.

Very nice. Something to kill an hour while waiting for game of thrones.

Well, I've been interested in seeing what they'll do with more Clone Wars episodes, so -

I didn't watch the panel, but I did see the trailer, and that looks great.
Where exactly will the Son of Dathomir be in relation to the stuff we're getting with Maul here? I'm more curious how that and Dark Disciple will relate to the new episodes since they were completed storylines, but just not in episode form.

Prior to it, presumably, as the Maul-Ahsoka stuff is supposed to be around the ROTS timeframe.

Nice. The Bad Batch arc was pretty good even in the animatronics phase. Ashoka's story should also be interesting. Plus the show down at Mandalor will be very interesting, with the aftermath of Order 66 going down during it.

It's still amazing how noticeable the improvements in their facial performance technology are in that footage. I suspect it'll take an episode or two for my brain to readjust to the weirdness of seeing such familiar characters be so expressive.
Well, they're still canon so they "happened". To what degree those events will be referenced remains to be seen. I suspect we may get a condensed version of Maul's escape, perhaps even in flashback since the reveal that he's taken over Mandalore again may be a secret, plotwise.

The 'Dark Disiple' stuff is mostly tangential to what's likely to be going on in these last episodes so at most Ventress may get a namedrop, but I really wouldn't expect anything of substance.

But if you're asking in terms of the chronology; the Siege of Mandalore is supposedly ongoing during the events of RotS (that glimpse you saw of Anakin giving Ahsoka a company of clones happens right before he runs off to save the chancellor and kill Dooku.) The rest of it is a bit vague, but IIRC it's been said that 'The Wrong Jedi' takes place about a year prior to RotS, so basically, all of the relesed 'Clone Wars Legacy' stories and the upcoming 12 episodes happen over the course of that year.

Indeed, assuming Ahsoka's episodes start relatively soon after leaving the order, it's a fair bet that they actually happen before and/or concurrently with the season 6 episodes.

Interesting that the Panel was titled Season 6, I guess they don't count "the lost Missions' as Season 6.
Indeed the production codes for all of them are listed as Season 5, so I guess it's just Season 5.5.

I wonder if we’ll see the aftermath of Order 66, because we know from Rebels that some of the clones rebelled and went into hiding.

Apparently that's part of the planned "Siege of Mandalore" arc, and it looks pretty definite that they're including that story in the new season.

Ugh. I want more TCW episodes, and especially more with Ashoka, but if she's only going to be in episodes with the shit mandalorians I won't even bother. The clone focused stuff might be interesting, but TCW killed that, too (every clone has a mind control chip, because TCW writers are complete morons who don't understand how a intensely trained clone army would kill Jedi without idiotic mind control tech, but somehow the clones Filoni likes take their chips out because...magic, and because just saying they refused orders would have made too much sense).

I like how they get a few more episodes, and exclusively do the types of stories that the show itself always did horribly. Its like bringing back Star Trek TNG, but every new episode is a variation on stuff Sub Rosa or Code of Honor. :klingon:
