I still hope that there’ll be new bookending scenes of George Takei appearing to do a “I remember when” intro and outro...subject to a special exemption to the fan film guidelines.

As the death of Leonard Nimoy recently reminded us, the days of the original cast are numbered, and each production with them in is a gift. Literally, in the case of fan films.

Captain Atkin, would you make the (potentially last ?) Sulu scenes for the Star Trek Legacy ?

I think this project is already grandfathered in.

 

I’d like to point out that I did say “subject to a special exemption to the fan film guidelines.”

Consulting with the IP owner beforehand to check they have no objection is a perfectly reasonable thing to do and other fan films have done that...

This fanfilm has had so many years of work put into it, the obvious bookending scenes would take it to the highest level.

 

I think it won't happen because I don't think George would do it without $$$.

 

Plus, George already did it in "World Enough and Time"

I'm not going to give dates anymore, because that just seems to set you up for failure. All I can say is that we are nearly finished now.

 

This sounds soooooo familiar. How many times did I have to say that about TTI?

 

Been looking forward to this one for years. It will be a bittersweet coda of the fan film era, as I don't think you can really do anything close to what we used to enjoy under the current guidelines, and the impetus isn't there as much thanks to the new shows.

 

That's totally understandable, I agree. Good to hear it's approaching completion.
