News The Summer of Mark Hamill's Discontent

She does not moderate this forum. It is a longstanding TrekBBS tradition that moderators are like any other poster when they are not in the forum they moderate and are not held to a different standard. She has as much right to her opinion and her expression of it as you do.

Personal insults are against the rules and she hurls them at anyone who disagrees with her, and many people are starting to notice it.

For a representative of this site, it's sad. But then again this site is going down the tubes

Then there is a handy dandy Report button to utilize.

Or don't engage. Either one.

Then, as she is to be treated as any other poster when not in her forum, you report any post you feel crosses a line and the mods will take a look and act accordingly. As for the people starting to notice, to my eyes it seems like it is about 5 people, but as will all things these days those 5 people feel that they represent a majority when there is no evidence to show that to be true. For example, people review bombing movies like The Last Jedi and Captain Marvel to lower their Rotten Tomatoes score, and the movies still go on to make enormous sums of money showing the ones review bombing are actually in the minority. Again. And finally, I personally think anyone throwing around terms like "SJW" at people who disagree with them is also insulting. But that's just me.

Reporting a mod will surely get me somewhere.

They know what she's like by now and they don't care.

I can't put her on ignore either, it's frustrating
If she is not the mod of the subforum then she is to be treated as another poster, with use of the report function and all.

You also don't need to use an Ignore function in order to not engage.

Anyway, back to the subject of Hamill's comments about the SW sequels... it seems a bit odd to me that somebody currently involved in the franchise would be airing creative differences (that kind of come across as complaining) right now. Though the article does note that he "has a very playful way about him." So maybe some of it is tongue-in-cheek?

Edit: spelling/typo

Maybe you shouldn’t reply to a month old post just to start a fight. You started this, you don’t get to play the victim. Especially when you constantly insulted me and kept claiming I had other intentions because I like a movie that you don’t.

Just use your best self control to ignore/scroll by their rants. Don't engage in any way and eventually they will get the point. I've had one on my personal ignore for two plus years now. I think he's finally figuring it out .;)

That's what I think it was. He just doesn't come across as someone who would be so careless.

On topic, I don't know. He reads to me as someone who thought it would play out differently. Let's face it in the final trilogy he got five seconds in the first one, trashed and killed in the second one, and um... er yeah, his character's surname used in the third. Wahoo. Every actors dream.

And there ends this exchange. Please do not engage any further, except to stay on the actual topic.

Word of advice - it is not wise to discuss however you ignore a moderator ... so please lose the subject.

Mark Hamill is credited as a cast member in The Rise of Skywalker, so we can assume he's going to have a bigger role than just having his character's name in the title of the movie.

Death didn’t stop Obi-Wan and Yoda, I don’t see why Luke would be any different. Given that Yoda could still use his abilities after death, I imagine Luke can as well.

Remember that Obi-Wan told Vader that killing him would only make him more powerful. With Luke we could see that in action and he’s supposed to be stronger in the Force than Yoda or Obi-Wan.

Yeah, the complaints about Luke's death seemed rather hollow to me in this franchise. Obi-Wan dies and then is in two more films. Yoda dies and is in one more film. What is it exactly about Luke's death that makes it seem more permanent?

It's why I can't figure out some of the complaints. They act like TLJ is the first Star Wars movie they've seen and even then they seem to miss a lot. Even the feminism complaint becomes extra silly because of Leia, who's been an icon for 40 years and only got stronger with the sequel trilogy and even Carrie's death. Except for her dying of sadness, Padme was a great one as well.

Yeah, I'm not exactly understanding of it either. Thus far, I fail to see how having more female characters in the franchise is a bad thing. It's been a problem for a while! Why do people think Mara Jade was so popular?

Who says it's him they're talking about in the title? Everyone assumes Luke, maybe it's Anakin. ;)
