I like character stuff too, to a degree. But I also like to advance the plot. Probably "To the Death", did it best with the small scene between Dax and O'Brien about leaving messages behind.
The plot was advanced. The non character stuff was all set up for the next episode.
 
We'll have to agree to disagree. Even my wife, who likes the show, was rolling her eyes at it.
I just did my rewatch. Most of the episode seemed to be about get the pieces where they need to be: Pike on the E. Spock and the Disco team on the D with the RA suit. Tyler off to do something They also spent a fair amount of time developing the plan and the tech to make the plan work. The character stuff didn't seem to take up that much time.

I'm sure I'll rewatch it somewhere down the road. I'll have to re-examine my thoughts at that point.
 
I can't even remember Poe, I need to rewatch season 1.

I like the point of continuity "We'll never use the holographic communication again!" At least they're trying. :)

Good episode overall, but feels like a linker episode between action and action.
