Episode IX Speculation and Discussion

It's true, this teaser feels a lot like the first teaser for TFA. Which gave me no hype at all. And which led to a movie that I loathe.

My hype is officially at 0% and falling.

But you guys enjoy your JJ Wars!

 

Based on the steaming pile that was TFA (and JJ's other films) I truly doubt it.

Let's hope you're right.

You know, as a guy who can't stand JJ Abrams' first Star Trek film and considers Star Trek Into darkness to be "so bad its entertaining" as opposed to being an actually good movie, I have no problems with his Star Wars stuff. I loved TFA, and was hyped for it right from the first trailer, and for me I'm sure I'll really enjoy Episode IX, especially based on how hyped this trailer makes me.

 

Star Wars.

 

I didn't love TLJ, but I did really enjoy it. TFA, I can watch that anytime!

I'm not sure how someone can rate anything at a 0% and it still be falling.

 

About the only thing I don't like about the JJ designed trailer...I want more information that what's put into them. Mystery box for the sake of it is not my thing.

 

Personally, I'd rather not know more about the movie eight months out. There needs to be a bit of mystery and hype around it in my opinion.

Now, the second trailer in a few months... that I want some story details from.

 

It is a "teaser" afterall, those have little to nothing in them for a reason.

Hey, everyone is entitled to their opinion. I have enjoyed both TFA and TLJ. I admit I'm probably too patient with these movies in general, but they, like Star Trek, harken back to my youth and I give them more credit than they probably deserve. I'm not faulting you for not liking one or both. They're not for everyone. I was really just giving you a bad time.

But, the guy who said that his hype at 0% and falling? Now that I question.

 

I don't understand why you always choose to take corporate spin as fact, and not the raw original reactions. You choose to do this every. single. time. it's like you don't understand how damage control works!

 

For him, hype is circular and his hype reached zero and is at 100 again.

 

Mind blown.

 

Plus it was written before the trailer even came out.

Whether it's good or bad remains to be seen but it's pretty clearly heading in the opposite direction from the one TLJ moved the story in.

 

It is an even permutation, though...

 

The trailer did nothing for me...Although I did think the Emperor Palatine's Laugh at the end was great. So there is hope.

 

Most people won't even know what this sentence means...
