Oh, right sorry. Force Ghosts follow the Catholic principle, murder billions upon billions but repent on your last breath and it's all okay.
Fair but (and it took me a moment to find it in the trailer), that moment goes by so quick, and the screengrab is not particularly good, I guess seeing it in motion, maybe. And you have a Skywalker in Ben Solo. Making a tenuous connection with Shmi, while completely possible just seems to be questionable, in my opinion. Its the same thing as suggesting that taking the moment out of TLJ to explain Snoke is Plagueis. It muddles things and makes it overly complicated to have Luke's ghost explain that Rey and Ben Solo are third cousins. REY: So, explain it to me again. GHOST LUKE: <Sigh> Okay, so my grandmother Shmi had a brother named Brian. Brian had Sally. Sally married Dale and had Frank. Frank married Matilda, they were drunkards, had you and sold you to Unkar Plutt for drinking money. You're special, Rey. You're a Skywalker. Just, ya know. Not by name. People seem to be forgetting Dark Empire.
Yeah that's likely a old ISD Mark I painted in Republic colors (it has red trim as he A-wing spin out of control)
He said sorry to Luke when he was already dying, leaving the legacy of destroyed planets, murdered children etc in his wake. Obviously there's little you can do to not have a Force Ghost. Palpatine was meant to have powers and abilities he never shared, that went far beyond any of the Jedi/Sith divide. I'm sure he could figure out how it works (since it does "work" in some way) and bind himself to the universe. Since that's what they're trying to hint and it does have a bacteriological basis not a 'magic' one.
Hehe... That was the first thing that came to mind when I heard Palps cackling. I really hope they don't go that route and use the tied to the Death Star spirit idea instead.
I had a feeling JJ would be scrubbing as much of 'The Last Jedi' as possible; not to satisfy the crying manbabies, but because it was clearly not the direction he wanted the story to go.
Definitely have a Death Star sighting. Question is: Is this Death Star I on Yavin? Or Death Star II on Endor?
Depends....do we get a Wicket cameo? Though if old Palpatine's haunting someplace, it be the wreckage of the Death Star II.
Wouldn't be my first choice, but it would do well to show a combined threat that Ben and Rey would have to unite on. Ben would have enough reason to want to go against a cloned Palps, him being the one who destroyed the grandfather he worshiped. Not to mention, they do like to utilize stuff from Legends and tell it in their own fashion.
Vader also did a self-sacrificing heroic act that saved the entire Rebellion before being mortally wounded by the Emperor. That's a lot more than just repenting on his last breath.
That he could have done by snapping Palpys neck in Episode 3 by not being an idiot and thinking Padme died of "Wuv" and saving many billions more, not throwing himself whole heartidly into such cruetly his name is the most feared in a galaxy. But you know, weird blood sick wizard people, what can you do.
And liked mentioned above, it certainly hasn't stopped them using Legends materials for their own use in the new canon.
