I’m a bit confused as to why they couldn’t Destroy the Discovery. So their shields are up. Just keep firing.
Do shields make them invincible now? Must be before they had prefix codes.
Michael saw the outcome of them trying to destroy Discovery and put a stop to it. That's why we'll never know how they ended up back on Disco fighting Control. My guess is that if they had kept trying the sphere AI would have raised power to the weapons system and made Pike & co think twice. If the only two ships you have access to cripple each other it's all over.

Scotty can't be chief engineer of Discovery because of TNG Relics
He also thought Kirk had returned from the dead to save him. Poor guy was awfully disoriented :p

True but they didn’t even address it. Also, the Enterprise should easily destroy the Discovery. It is the top dog after all.

The Enterprise is about ten years older than Discovery. She get good press, of course, but Discovery is state-of-the-line and took down its fair share of Klingon ships. The two should be near equals, with a slight edge towards the Enterprise only because of the enhancements Number One made.

But they say that Control would always find them so that reasoning makes no sense.

Yep. Enterprise was about 50 minutes away with Control 10 minutes behind them. I guess Sarek must have sensed Discovery's location via the katric connection, but his presence was completely unnecessary. Enterprise should've been telling everybody to meet them at Xahea, and shipd closer (like Sarek's) could've apparently beaten them there.

But the Enterprise just had a refit, and it’s a heavy cruiser while the Discovery is just a science vessel.

Sarek should've shown up as a hologram (have Disco fix their comminication issue), or better yet, just a weird katra ghost like in Episode 1. Then we can imagine that they're all on the frontier, far from any help.

I think the communication problem will follow them into next season.

The weird thing about that scene is that before it, they say that the Enterprise is only 57 minutes out. He randomly shows up, talks to Mike, gets back to his ship and blasts off. We cut back to Mike watching her mum’s videos when they mention the Enterprise is only 20 minutes out. So that all happened in 37 minute time frame.

I suspect Season 3 is going to be told from two different perspectives, Enterprise episodes and Discovery episodes. I could be wrong. I don't think they're going to create yet another Trek series but its pretty clear they didn't create all these sets AND make a very obvious "We're not getting rid of Culber this time!" gesture (and the obvious business of why Rebecca Romijn was signed on for a couple of lines in a few episodes). In some ways the show is going to be closer to achieving Fuller's anthology idea.

Spock: "The time crystal is broken. It says I die twice. Including a couple years from now, while I'm an old man, well over 160 years old. You deserve a refund."
Spock also got rusty in his old age. He named Khan as the most dangerous adversary the Enterprise faced, but it's obviously Control!

Spock lost his perspective just because Khan happened to cause his death. :vulcan:

Having the Crystal only show death/calamity makes very similar to Johnny Smith’s ability from the Dead Zone novel/movie/tv show.

So. Uh. Is this episode not even on the CBS website? I watched on Amazon, but I decided to take a look on the CBS app. I've tried three browsers on four different devices, including a complete clear of my cookies...and the episode simply isn't there. I mean, I'm sure it is there, but this doesn't seem to be specific to a certain browser or machine. I don't get it. :shrug:It just ends with 2x12.
