Honestly, how many times has Spock not found a way to go back into the past? Its really his thing, whether he plans to or not.

Isn't that him in the background, out of focus? Wouldn't it be great if Reno did a Guinan on him!
A young blond actor I assume. I doubt they would use CGI to make him look like young Shatner.
I liked Pike's ready room or the briefing room on the Enterprise. The graphic of the Enterprise on the wall made me wish that the room also had artwork of other ships named Enterprise including Archer's NX-01.
It was obvious to me that she would eventually end up in the suit. But the people howling "plotholes" and "how could 23rd century tech get it wrong" after the supposed botched dna analysis job was just ridiculous IMH. Honestly, I don't know how people who are commited to crying "plothole" at a serialized season can ever read novels without throwing them at walls after every chapter.
I get that all this is going to be super-classified or something, but I'm just imagining Spock silently snickering in The Original Series when they stumble into time travel those couple of times.
Maybe I missed something, but what warranted the episode being rated TV-MA?
The visions of death, maybe? It's a two-parter, so maybe it was judged as a whole, and the real TV-MA portion is yet-to-come.
The show was renewed for season 3 at the same point in the season as it was renewed for season 2. Expect 7 seasons.

And what is that ship chilling to the left of the wormhole right before Michael gets sucked in? Kinda looked like the cleave ship without the cleavey bit.
It seems like they found an excuse to show just about everyone featured in Season 2 this episode. Except for L'Rell, who got her shot last week.
I guess it makes sense though thematically if the episode truly is a big goodbye.
Just like last week, I am trying to watch the episode, but having constant buffering issues and really low resolution. It'll probably be fifteen minutes into the episode before it acts normally. Seriously, this happens waaay more with CBSAA than any other streaming service I use, even the free ones!
