I know that on 9-11 two of our members had views of the Twin Towers, one from the rooftop of his apartment building and the other from his office across the river.
I still think I was one of the fastest newbie-to- mod in trekbbs history (sometime like 5 months or so from joining). I think it was 'cause I was a big Janewayite and Lisa was too! Lol
Same story for me. I don’t remember how quickly I became a mod, but it was relatively fast. Lisa and I interacted a lot on the old J Team site. Good times.
And ICQ...if you were on staff you had to have it.
Wow this thread is a blast from the past. It's nice seeing some of the old avatars return, even though three pages in and there haven't been any Sombrero avatars posted yet, and I don't think Samuel T. Cogley posts here anymore. That whole era (before the first Kelvin movie came out) was weird.
I have twice. My old account from 2000-2002 was locked and got deleted in one of the crashes. I returned briefly to post in the farewell thread when my friend Kelly died but used a different name so as to not attract the attention of trolls and bullies. How many old-timers here have changed names? Not you, Amaris, I KNOW you have!
Don't be a stranger! Post more often, please! We could do with such interesting topics.Yep, I really joined back in 1999! I guess that makes me one of the oldest (though not most productive) members here. I remember that in those days, Trektoday was THE place to go for Trek news. I've always loved this forum, and I remember in 'the early days' I created several long threads (like 'Would you have sex with an alien?' or 'Is it right to kill a hologram?'). Good times - and still going!
