The nacelles fall off half the time anyway. They've never done that, but seems like a simple peg-and-slot wouldn't be too difficult.

Yeah, disconnected warp nacelles haven't been uncommon - i've only received three that were irreparably damaged: Defiant, for which the shipping and product boxes were 100%, so the damage had to have happened at the factory, and the Romulan Drone and whatever came with it (i think maybe the 1701-B?), which arrived totally crushed. This is true, but for all the models I've accumulated over the years, only a small handful have arrived with something popped off, and none were so bad off that they couldn't be fixed with a couple of dabs of superglue in strategic locations.
Maybe try the hot/cold water trick? Dip the bow in hot water to soften the plastic, then once in place reset with cold water - that's worked for me in the past in similar situations. The one possible exception being the Quqh, which had those tiny little pointy things on the bow get bent in the box. I'm almost too afraid to bend them back and make it worse.
The Excelsior prototype might be the first concept model we’ve had in the main line ? I think all others have been specials of some sort.
Isn't it also in Spacedock in STIII? (Unless I'm thinking of another unused design.)The Exclesior prototype is seen at the Qualor II Surplus Depot from TNG Unification, so it is an onscreen canon ship
The Planet of the Titans study model is in spacedock (the one that looks a but like Discovery). I think there's concept art of the four-nacelled Excelsior in Spacedock too.Isn't it also in Spacedock in STIII? (Unless I'm thinking of another unused design.)
There have been 4 Excelsior study models that I’m aware of. I believe all have shown up on-screen as background ships.
