I don't like to do halves but I give it an 8.5. Most of the episode was a 7, but the beginning and end pack a punch. Burnham packs a couple of punches in the middle too. Literally. 10-level material in a 7 episode. The only answer is to split the difference.

Didn't see the twist at the end coming. I think I can very safely say no one saw that coming. I'm glad the arrogant don't have something they can congratulate themselves with.

I don't know what to make of Georgeau. She definitely has a weird protective attitude toward Burnham. I kind of like where this is going.

Old habits die hard. She still sees her surrogate daughter even if it's not the Burnham of her universe. I'm sure it goes the other way around too.

Crazy episode.

Thumbs up for Saru singing. Reminded me of Eowyn siging in LOTR

Red angel is not Michael was a nice surprise.

Not sure what killed Lealand.

Kinda lukewarm about Michael and Ash.

Like the gay chat among Georgio. Pan sexual... Lmao.

SMG had a lot of acting to do. Some good, like dying in the chair, almost like Exorcist. Some not so good like intimate moments with Ash.

Airiam 1 replaced Airiam 2 on the bridge, lmao!

Not as good as If Memory Serves, but that is the new benchmark for Disco.

Great job with the reveal. That comfortably and happily didn't let me down. It was neither expected nor was it fanwanky inane stupidity like a lot of people were predicting or hoping for. And it sufficiently advances the story of the main character of the show.

I couldn't help but think "man, the Burnham Haters are going to have a fucking stroke with this one" all through the episode. Literally every scene is going to be like puttin a burning match near a steam burn for them.

The Red Angel's identity was ultimately someone who can deepen the character drama of the show, contrary to claims that all Discovery cares about is action. I find that very satisfying.

It will also be interesting to see how the Discovery-hating YouTubers' livestreams go around the 10-minute mark when the show trolls them hard.

I'd love to see some whacky sci if twist that says something like the quantum resonance unique to the Mirror Universe affects humans over time and makes them have all the negative traits you see there and, once removed from that setting, you start to be influenced by THIS universe's quantum resonance and lose those traits.

I'd love to see Georgeau start to gravitate back to the original character, with a little vampy mischief still intact.
