Disney Reportedly Planning Knights Of The Old Republic Show For Disney Plus

The Mouse House currently has their eye on Netflix’s crown and plans to take it pretty soon by launching their very own streaming service in the form of Disney Plus. With so many different IPs at their disposal, it’s not like they’ll be hard-pressed to find original content and so far, they’ve already announced a number of Marvel TV shows as well as The Mandalorian, which will be the very first live-action series in the Star Wars saga.

But they won’t be stopping there. Far from it, in fact. A few weeks ago, we learned of plans for shows revolving around Finn, Poe, Lando, Qi’Ra and even a young Princess Leia. And if all that wasn’t exciting enough, we’re now hearing that there are also talks of doing a series based on Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic.

Now this is a a star Wars story that I can't wait to see. I love the KOTOR series.

We Got This Covered is not a legitimate news source, so this is most likely not happening and this entire thread is therefore pointless.
 
Wouldn't be surprised It's only a matter of time before they started tapping Old Republic material, though honestly I expect it to show up in the books or comics, or even animation before live action ever touched on it.

Also: that'd probably the final death knell for SWTOR. Which reminds me, I really ought to get around to finishing off with my Smuggler, Inquisitor & Agent before they pull the plug...

Thank you, I was just about ask about this.
If we do get Old Republic era TV series, I doubt it would end up being related to the game. The shows have introduced quite a bit of new history for the Jedi and if we did get a show sent back in the Old Republic era, I'm pretty sure they would base it on those bits and pieces of history rather than the KTOR games and/or comics.
 
I wouldn't hold my breath yet. This rumour circulates every now and then, like the Obi-Wan movie. The only real difference this time is that it's going to be on Disney's streaming service (previously it was to be on Netflix).

Yeah, I thought the GOT people were supposed to be doing movies in that era, or something? :shrug:
 
I know it's probably BS, but I would love for that to be true. Between the two rumors, I would rather get a movie series set in the Old Republic, just because a movie would be able to give us a bigger look at the era, and wouldn't be as limited in it's scope as a TV series would be.
 
I can also vouch for the Bane trilogy. And if you want to experience the KOTOR universe I suggest playing KOTOR 1 or the TOR MMO. The MMO is free to play and you can experience the classes up to level 60.

I have read the Bane trilogie and I agree they are very good.
KOTOR I have played maybe 20 times, one of the best games ever made, KOTOR Is ok.
TOR I didn't like very much, gave it up after 10 + hours
 
I don't know much about the timeline but would it be possible to see a young Yoda in this movie?

Too far back. That era is thousands of years before Yoda was born. It all end maybe a hundred years before his birth with Darth Bane (which was roughly a thousand years before Episode One, and by Episode Six, you is 900 years old)
