If CBS did a post-DS9 Short Trek, what would you want to see?

Maybe they could set it on Bajor or something to help with costing? Also one or two characters would be fine in each one. Could just have four episodes like the first bunch. Wouldn't necessarily have to be all DS9 characters either?

They could do it for Voyager as well. Or combine both into one series?

Honestly I don't think sets are a huge problem. Lots of DS9 involved people just talking in a room, so some simple set redressing could easily work. Developing sets would probably be the biggest lift beyond convincing CBS that the nostalgia trip was worth the money though. I have to think the old writers and the cast would both jump at the opportunity - at least as a one-time thing.

I'm not a big Voyager fan, but I can see why VOY fans would also want their characters revisited. However, I feel very strongly that there shouldn't be "crossover" shorts. The VOY crew didn't really know anyone on DS9 (or TNG) and for the most part (with the exception of Janeway becoming an admiral, and the unique status of Seven and The Doctor) weren't particularly famous.

I didn't really explain myself very well sorry. I meant appearing in separate episode as opposed to DS9 and VOY characters sharing screen-time.

The return of Sisko would be a obvious choice.

Reunited with a adult offspring who openly condemns him for abandoning his family, and Sisko trying to explain. Kasity remarried, and speaks to Sisko with polite coolness, but she's moved on.

Jake being the only one to lovingly accept him.

That would be great to see, but Avery Brooks has no interest in revisiting Sisko as a character.

When I posted upthread that I'd like to see Nana Visitor reprise Kira, I had envisioned something set on Bajor or another generic location. Building DS9 sets would of course be a no-go.

A "Section 31 in the future" with Alexander Siddig which ties in with Discovery or the new S31 spin-off could use Picard series or redressed Discovery sets.

The Promenade is the most iconically DS9 location. Not OPS. Not the bridge of the Defiant. Not the meeting room. Perhaps it could be recreated digitally, but without the Promenade, they might as well film in a Burger King.

(This probably sounds more snarky than I intend. Certainly, catching up with Garak or Nog or whomever can happen anywhere. But if it is a DS9 story, it needs the Promenade.)

You'd think the Star Trek powers that be would have realized by now that there are always new series and new opportunities for flashbacks, so they should be putting sets into storage, not destroying them.

Hmm. Tough call, as DS9 pulls apart at the end.

I think the best place to start would be where it left off. Quark, still running his bar. DS9 still the hub it always was.
I would not be interested in seeing all the cast return through convoluted means.

Yeah, the DS9 formula was always solid. Pick right up with it, it's a winner. The station is "the ship" and the wormhole brings the mystery to it. Something weird comes through the wormhole, maybe its been dormant for 20 years. Somehow this will end up bringing back The Sisko. Quark will contact some of the old crew.

I would love to see Nana Visitor reprise Kira Nerys.

Alexander Siddig in a Section 31 tie-in would be cool too.
Heck I'd watch a Siddig-starring S31 series before a Michelle Yeoh fronted one. Alexander Siddig's acting has improved 100x since DS9, and his character hasn't crossed any insane moral event horizons like committing genocide or eating the flesh of sentient humanoids.
