Well at least the kids needed a non-corporeal alien (that of course Kirk was immune toHippies and young children haven been known to take over the Enterprise.

It was a decent episode but I didn't feel sad about Ariam's death. Until this episode she's been a glorified extra. Tilly and everyone crying their eyes out for her because she's their friend would've been more effective if the writers had spent any time actually showing those friendships developing.
To be fair, the usage was more natural than the other.Incidentally, unless I've missed the dedicated thread, I'm glad no one is going crazy because Pike said "shit storm".
A great improvement over last year's "Fuck yeah"-gate. Well done everyone.
A Linus infection?Out with flu again.![]()
Yep. I really thought Tilly’s “Care Bear” moment was going to save Airiam from Control. So glad that didn’t happen, but very sad to see Airiam go.Yes, very much this - this is why I liked the ending, I was 99.8% sure they weren't going to go through with it, and they did.
Cause she had just been flung 50+ meters across the room smashing the back of her spacesuit against a wall and knocking the breath out of her and most likely disabling her suit helmet. Why couldn’t Nhan have put on her space helmet to breathe? Surely her spacesuit must’ve had a Barzan setting? And why not beam Airiam into a brig on Discovery at the end?
I see a lot of complaints about Burnham not trying to save Nhan. It is a valid criticism but I didn’t have an issue with it.
Burnham was trying to save her own life, and also the life of her friend (airiam). It’s understable that under this great duress she forgot about the character that is basically a stranger to her. Honestly I forgot about Nhan too until they showed her again.
If anything this proves that Burnham is not Mary Sue.
Yeah, they're not members. She probably got someone to sponsor her entry to Starfleet Academy like Nog did.Barzan is not a Federation member, right? Or at least, they are not in 2366, or else the Federation wouldn't have had to bid.
I agree that I would have preferred more development for her throughout the past season and a half. I think I mentioned a few times last season "Don't put another cool ass cyborg on the bridge and not tell me about it again" (like the guy in STID). But that ship has sailed, and all things considered, for stuffing 90% of her character development into five minutes of one episode, they managed to do an excellent job of making me like her as a character and to feel her profound loss to Michael, Tilly, and Detmer especially.Atrium could have been an interesting character if she just wasnt in the background for a season and a half, I would have felt more if they had killed Linus. The stress playing her was interesting, I wish we knew her better
Another case where the shorter seasons make it impossible to show us those moments. It was enough for me that Tilly and the others sold the friendships.
