All the disparate elements were shot on film but comped digitally on the Betacam thingie.

I'm not sure if they're full HD, but MeTV did just start showing new, cleaner, prints of all of the M*A*S*H episodes.

The models were all shot on film. The compositing, phasers, etc. were done on video.

But we're kinda OT here. :)

They're on Hulu, too. They look HD to me, like they went back to the original film.

Yeah, LFIM is betting that his viewers aren't watching RMB's channel.

There were a number of episodes of M*A*S*H without a laugh track — ones the producers were able to convince the network wouldn't have worked if the laugh track were added. The were:

"O.R.," "The Bus," "Quo Vadis, Captain Chandler?," "The Interview," "Dreams," "Point of View," and "Goodbye, Farewell and Amen," the series finale.

They also scaled the laugh track way back later in the show's run. They also had rules whereby no laughter was over the O.R. scenes, etc.

Anyone here interested in learning more about M*A*S*H or sitcom writing in general may like By Ken Levine:
    kenlevine.blogspot.com

Ken writes about his time on M*A*S*H, Cheers, and Frasier, plus his years as a Top-40 DJ and being a baseball announcer on the radio.

A couple of questions about the serving of the lawsuit on RMB.

First, why does it have to be in person?

Secondly, if it's a basic procedure of proof that RMB received it, why is difficult to do between states? I understand different state laws, but I thought that a basic process like this would be standardised.

I actually double-check before I post to make sure my recollections are correct. A rarity. :D

I've served papers twice in California, I wasn't involved on one side or the other. I don't know about other states.
I just had to sign a document that I did it, where and when.

Because the Judge needs a witness (IE the Process Server who delivered notification) to be able to come to court, and under oath state: "Yes, I properly served the Defendant with legal notification of the lawsuit." Why? Because otherwise the Defendant can say, "Hey, I didn't know about it."

It is standardized. Notification must be served IN PERSON to the Defendant named in the lawsuit <--- That's the legal standard.

I have Levine's blog pinned and sometimes listen to his Hollywood and Levine podcast.

Speaking of M*A*S*H, the laugh track is discussed in this PBS behind the scenes about the show.

Jump to 43:03 for that (link).

thanks carlos for pointing out that a. now finally, officially went from "we're the most transparent fan film" to:

“We're not going to tell you what budgets are going for, where [the money's] going or how we're spending it. … I don't need anyone mucking up in my business.”

somebody please call in the fleet and nuke this shit show finally.
