The Red Angel, from TOS Operation Annihilate. You see, Discovery is canon. :D

Well, I'm not entirely sure. I just seem to remember it being used in that context. And, between the direct reference to boys and the misspelling, it seems like it's a way to double down on saying "they're not really men..."

I didn't know that, either.

I suppose that that friendly individual simply didn't spell correctly, but if it was deliberate, I would like to add to the unfortunate implications that I do not find being called "not a real man" (there is no such thing, anyway) insulting - not just because I'm a woman, either.
I think your looking far too much into things and for things to be offended by.......

But hey go ahead looking for meanings that wernt there.
Actual diffinition.....

Spock doesn't even like her. In fact he appears to be still angry with and resent her. There's a scene in one of the season previews (presumably yet to come) where Michael and Spock are arguing, she says she sacrificed everything for him and he counters by saying she keeps taking on burdens as if they're hers alone. I think the writers are very aware of her flaws and are going to use Spock to point some of them out.

Also, what's so terrible about a competent woman being a savior of the galaxy for once? She is the lead, after all. And of course she'd never be able to do it without everyone else's support. That's a given. So why does it stick in people's craw so much?

It's Frankie Avalon.

Picard, surely.

I can't think of anyone else that would make sense. It's a human, it's a time traveller, they are obviously setting up for a "Big reveal" so it's not just "some guy"

My theory Stewart came in to film it as a guest spot and that's when they did a deal for a picard show.

Second theory/prediction is that the final shot of this season is helmet comes off and it's Picard, and the picard show will end the season setting up picard getting the suit and going back in time to discovery era

I was just thinking that Vina might be a more satisfying answer than Burnham based on this line, and came here to say as much. You'd already beaten me though.

Actually, I think I'm going to be disappointed if it isn't Vina now.
I'd thought about Vina too... We know she (at least with the help of the Talosians) has the ability to manifest herself across great distances. We've also seen that the Talosians have the ability to fool sensors with their trickery (the shuttle sensors registering like it was actually getting ready to enter the singularity that turned out to be Talos IV). So, what if this is a giant ruse to get Captain Pike back to Talos IV? I've not yet figured out how New Eden or Kaminar would play into this scenario (unless, of course, the Ba'ul are also enemies of the Talosians).
