Red Angel Theories- Post Here

So, what we've been told (or seen) to date is:
* Time traveler wearing a extremely advanced high tech suit
* Human (with mental baggage)
* Visuals suggest female humanoid

So that's what, potentially 51% of the human population. I hate the 'small universe' potential of it being Burnham or Tilly. but whom else makes sense from a story standpoint?

Here's an outside the box idea: The Red Angel is Burnham's mother.

Not Amanda - Burnham's birth mother.

Consider the following:

1. The Red Angel personally intervened to save Michael's life.

2. The Red Angel is female.

3. Burnham never actually saw her parents die - she was hiding in a cupboard IIRC.

4. Section 31 - Leland in particular - is somehow responsible for their "deaths."

5. Sarek raised Michael, and had connections to Section 31.

Basically maybe Burnham's parents were either working for Section 31 or their work was known to them. Their research involved time travel. Control rules it was too dangerous and they must be killed. Burnham's mom somehow escapes into the future, finds a future suit, and is battling with Control across the timeline.

Michaels mother as the Red Angel is actually quite plausible (as eschaton has posited) considering the connection it has with both Spock and Michael.

It’s also ‘right under our noses’ in one sense, and also a pre-existing character that we know little about but has potential to be expanded on, now that things are timely-Wimey!

Either of the mothers seem like interesting candidates for different reasons. Over & over, though, it's repeated that the Red Angel knew where Michael was for Spock to be able to lead them to her and save her. So if Amanda had found the dead Michael in the original timeline, she would've known where to direct Spock to.

I predict it is Picard and it will link directly in with the up coming Picard mini series, red angel equals Picard Red next gen uniform, the wings equal Picards........erm..........side head hair..............ok i have nothing for them. Lol

I posted this in the 2x09 preview thread, but it works here too.

So, this next episode is called "Project Daedalus".

Daedalus fashioned wings for himself and his son Icarus to escape the labyrinth he created for King Minos of Crete. Icarus of course flew too close to the Sun, melting the wax on his wings and causing him to fall to his death in the sea.

The reason I bring it up, is that artificial wings are pretty prominent in the Red Angel design:

I don't exactly know how all of it comes together, but just some food for thought.

Maybe Section 31 created the Red Angel suit and was experimenting with time travel, and someone stole it to try and prevent the future apocalypse they cause. The future squidbots with the Brainiac logos that took over Airiam seem to possibly have some connection with the CONTROL AI that runs Section 31, so maybe that's the villain of the whole thing.

Going through Section 31 HQ there also had some labyrinth vibes, perhaps with Airiam metaphorically taking on the role of the Minotaur.

I vote this FTW, with the caveat that maybe her parents weren't killed, but were thought so in an accident involving the suit. When the signals started appearing, Leland said "Oh shit!" and tried / is trying to to bury the story.

If this is the case, though, what was the point of saving New Eden? What's in it for Burnham's mom? Long lost family?

She needed the Discovery to leave the quadrant for a few days?

Discovery has name-dropped Elon Musk.

Musk says that reality is a MMORPG.

Nick Yee did a study on MMORPGs, entitled 'The Daedalus Project'.

Hmmm....:hugegrin:
