I can’t belive this is actually happening
Not heard of him, but Michelle Hurd is a well established name for me, and a strong choice. Wonder what she is playing? Two cast members announced

If he doesn't appear on camera, I will be very surprised.
64-year-old Admiral William Riker with the Titan as his personal flagship. It may be the only chance we'll get to see the Titan onscreen in a canon story of some kind.
If it absolutely had to have another established character, Guinan would be my choice as she has a personal connection to Picard himself. Although the fact that the seemingly near immortal Guinan now looks like a twenty years older Whoopi Goldberg might take some explaining.
Well they shouldn't be featured. A brief cameo wouldn't take away from the new content, while acknowledging to existing fanbase that it's an in the same universe as the previous Trek shows they all loved. Think Janeway cameo in Nemesis, it was short and sweet and to the point. A few more like that in STD2 wouldn't be too much or too bad.Honestly, I can't see anyone on that list who I would like to see again. Least of all Worf - if anyone's story has had enough airtime, it's his.
This is kind of why I would like them to stay away from doing it. It just becomes a stunt which will distract from the story. One group of fans will be all 'Yay!' and talk about nothing else, another will be all 'Boo!' and talk about nothing else. I'd like the show to generate discussion from its content.
I would really enjoy seeing Ro again. She's a great actress and a great character that left too soon. Plus she's a younger generation officer who could be at the height of her career at this point and Picard was basically her mentor. And Stewart had more chemistry with Forbes than he did with any of the regulars. If she fits the story, please go ahead!
That's over 25 years in-universe. If they want to they can easily bring her back, she could have been captured, served time in federation prison, came out, redeemed herself and could be a captain by now. Plenty of time for character development...Ro went Maquis though. That means most likely she was killed by the Dominion when they were finally crushed in 2373.
I suppose it's possible she's out there - IIRC the former Maquis members who survived were offered general amnesty - but I can't see her becoming a high-ranking officer given her suspect past.
If they show B4(i.e. Data) they can always explain Brent Spiner's aging in-universe as flaws in the android body itself, and since B4 was considered to be the most flawed and failed Soong android to begin with(hence why he was discarded in the first place to make way for Lore and then Data) it shouldn't be too hard to explain away Spiner's having aged at least seventeen years between NEM and the Picard series. Data was already starting to show the signs of biological aging as early as FC.
That's what happens when you have a theoretically immortal android being played by a mortal actor.![]()

That's what de-aging fx is for.
