A lot of the genetic modifications that occur in that episode are very strange.Next I nominate Scientific Method, in which the observing aliens print barcodes directly onto their subjects' DNA - which is like giving a raincloud a tattoo.

Maybe the Voth did become humans after reaching Warp 10.Neither did the Voth after transwarping. Well, perhaps also because they already were some kind of lizards to begin with.
No, but I think the "lizard" problem is not with Transwarp or warp 10 itself, just with the particular method they are using.

^That might also explain the look of that Gorn in TOSTrue! Voth turned into a humanoid (coincidentally the one we saw in Living Witness) in a lizard suit!![]()
As well as all the variations, as I think some have tails. Clearly the ones with no tails went to Warp 10.^That might also explain the look of that Gorn in TOS![]()

Oh yeah..and that could actually have been done belivably...why not just put some additional base pairs somewhere as a marker?
Yeah, a lot of that is weirdly impractical for study. One would think that a species that can be "out of phase" with the rest could come up with better, less intrusive, equipment.I think the barcode on atoms is the least of that episode's problems. Like they drill invisible needles in Janeway's face but what if she wants to scratch or something, won't she stab the needles in her hand?

Maybe the needles aren´t just invisible...but also "out of phase"?
What ever "out of phase" is supposed to mean...
But a dog at the other side of the galaxy? Please give me a break!
If they had made the creature a six legged, four-eyes sloth or a lizard wagging its tail I could have accepted it. But a dog?
My personal favorite is figuring out language and the use of "remodulation." In one episode, Janeway orders Harry to "remodulate the universal translator" after remarking that the language must be "so unlike ours" that the translator can't figure it out. So, what's remodulating going to do for it?
If they left 65 million years ago, was that before or after Earth got hit by a giant meteor?
