Picard Series at the end of 2019

Makes sense. By making it more introspective, they're writing to Patrick Stewart's age and the strength of the character. I'm not quite sure what they mean by "real world", though... and "real world" doesn't necessarily mean "current events". So I don't think Picard's fighting some rich, powerful, corrupt Ferengi caught up in scandal. At least I hope not.

Filming in California means we could see a return of people who worked behinds on earlier shows. I am thinking of the Okudas in particular. I believe that was not an option with productions in Canada due to local union rules. Plus filming in locations so far part they are going to need separate crews and Discovery’s will already be busy. Very expensive to relocate people. Hopefully they tap into experienced people. I wonder if Patrick had a say in that too.

In an ideal scenario, I think it would be, or should be:

Picard Season 1 --> Fall 2019
Disco Season 3 --> Spring 2020

If DSC S3 gets pushed back... I'll be a disappointed but, not the end of the world.

i am not going to guess any dates, but the order (assuming they want some trek to be on always):

Discovery Season 2 (Jan-Apr 2019)
short Treks 2
Lower Decks season 1
short Treks 3
Picard season 1 (late 2019)
short Treks 4
Discovery season 3

There was a tweet or IG from one of the writers saying that although Picard and Lower Decks are being written concurrently, Picard will air while animation for the latter will take a couple of years.

I'm surprised we still don't have a title revealed for the series yet, given that production is only a month away.

Could have a sub-forum using "The Picard Show" until such time as a official title is released. At which time the mods could change the sub-forum's name.

I wasn't sure if the software here allowed for the renaming of forums. I figured the lack of an official title is what's holding the subforum up.

They want the title in place, a firm release date, and they have to line up the mods. When the DSC Forum was created, the release date got pushed back. I think they don't want to make the same mistake again.
