Uh, yes, it did, and it's easy enough to fact-check. Superman (1978) won the Special Achievement Academy Award for Visual Effects.Superman 78 didn't win any

I enjoyed Black Panther but if it had won Best Picture I think I would've laughed my head off!Loathsome?
You know... I totally agree. One of the worst snubs in history for best stunts not to go to MI: Fallout.
It was rather silly that it got that nomination. Both Paddington 2 and Fallout were way better than that.I enjoyed Black Panther but if it had won Best Picture I think I would've laughed by head off!
I would have thought the same before Green Book won. Black Panther was a better movie than that.I enjoyed Black Panther but if it had won Best Picture I think I would've laughed my head off!
He won best script. And Blackkklansman was an excellent film. Better than Green Book or Black Panther.I just think it's funny Spike Lee lost again![]()
I am not sure what this has to do with Black Panther. But your comments on this thread and another thread that we are posting in seem to follow a certain theme. I hope you are not trying to push some kind of agenda. The Academy thought otherwise. Better luck next time Spike.
BlacKKKlansman has its own issues of historical accuracy similar to Green Book, as pointed out by rapper/director and Spike Lee fan Boots Riley in a (spoiler-filled) critique:GREEN BOOK winning when BLACKKKLANSMAN was right there is honestly a goddamn shame, but it's also pretty damn typical of the Oscars to go for such a "safer" choice.

I loved how impishly gleeful he was at his "cup of tea" joke. His comments backstage were hilarious.
