Or she just feels she's grown beyond superhero movies mentally, not physically. It is actually possible she has an opinion of her own. Or, you could be right. Or, it's something else. I feel you're kinda putting a meaning behind her words there.

That's what usually happens--Paltrow expresses her own opinion on why she's leaving the MCU (with the "too old" for the suit line) and somehow, she's a victim of a sexist double standard. Only she does not know it. That assumption does more harm to her right/ability to make her own decisions for legitimate reasons that the so-called reason forced on her by certain people.

I'm not a big fan of Smith but I'm thrilled Thompson will be part of the series.

Did he not know it yet that an infinity stone was inside the staff? Why didn't Thanos make his move earlier to collect the stones if he did know and why does the tesseract supposedly power the staff? Spend money to make money. He's risking one stone to wind up with two in the end (after Loki takes Earth for himself and pays back his debt).

According to Tom Hiddleston, Loki's death in The Dark World was supposed to be permanent. He says that the audiences at the test screenings showed "a very strange and almost unanimous resistance to it".

Whatever. You're assuming he didn't give Loki the sceptre explicitly because it contained the mind stone as a means of controlling Loki. It's as much a leash as it is a weapon. It also accounts for how Loki was acting with his megalomania turned up to 11 in Avengers, while in later appearances he'd gone back to as he was in 'Thor'. Recall how the Avengers almost came to blows after being left alone in the room with that thing for just a few mins? Also note how Loki showed signs of physical pain while holding it and while communicating with Thanos's lackey.

As for why Thanos made his move when he did; the general notion is that Loki told him it was there, as seen in the post credit scene for 'Thor'.

And it's not as if Loki would have been able to abscond with the scepter. Don't forget that the Chitauri were still under Thanos control.

^ Well not surprising. I think like I said a little while ago, if anyone actually thought it would be R you really don't know much about Hollywood, the industry and how it works.
I just hate those kinda clickbait articles like "Will Black Widow solo movie be R rated- almost certain!!" They're always written by people who must live on Mars or something, they always sound like they zero clue.

Yeah, I never lent much credence to the notion. The only way I thought it *might* happen is if Disney really decided to stiff them on the budget, then it might be worth the financial gamble.

Mind you, it's not like the Marvel movies have exactly been tame of bloodless as it is. It's not been exactly gory either (dragon brains and Doug aside.) And I certainly don't recall watching 'Winter Soldier' thinking "you know what? Some gratuitous skull pops, gut spillages and boobies would make this a much more credible gritty espionage thriller!"

According to the rumor mill, the future of the Defenders-verse looks hopeful. Reports have Jeph Loeb anxious to bring back all five of the shows on either the previously speculated Hulu, or FX after the two-year embargo from Netflix has ended.

Of course, it all depends upon actor availability and getting the proper creative teams in place. Melissa Rosenberg was moving on from Jessica Jones after season 3 anyway, so that might have been the end of that show at Netflix at any rate. Also, I think oversaturation was an issue at Netflix. According to Parrott Analytics data, people tended to treat Marvel Netflix shows as a single brand rather than four distinct entities. I think both the stories of Luke Cage and Danny Rand would benefit by merging both of the shows together. Not only for the classic Power-Man and Iron Fist pairing, but for the breakout characters the Daughters of the Dragon as well.

I'd be surprised if they'll be able to reassemble everyone two years down the line. That's one hell of a hiatus for actors that still need to be taking other gigs in the mean time.

And I still think 'Daughters of the Dragon' is a much better prospect that 'Heroes for Hire'. Not just because neither Luke nor Danny really interested me in their most recent seasons, but also because where their respective stories left off are at least a story arc's worth of episodes away from being able to credibly converge. Colleen and Misty though seem pretty much good to go.

IIRC the embargo supposedly refers to those specific characters showing up on any non-Netflix production for two years following cancellation. It seems like it's basically meant to stop Marvel from either seamlessly restarting the shows themselves or shuffling the IP off to other projects (e.g: they can't just make Frank Castle or Matt Murdock a recurring regular on AoS or insert Jessica Jones into Doctor Strange 2 or something.)

So if that's indeed the case then in theory they possibly could just go right on making the shows and just sit on them for 24 months, but I can't see that looking good on a quarterly report. And booking actors that far in advance would most likely require pay or play contracts, so the actors know they're not going to get stiffed if the scheduling shifts and conflicts with other commitments. Which also seems like something Disney is unlikely to go for.
