Does anyone know what the status is......? I haven’t heard anything about them for quite some time.... I think their Kirk and Picard are excellent, love to see more from them!

The existence of this thread disproves your point.

I don't collect a lot of Trek stuff in general, but...

If Art Asylum would release a good recreation of the Discovery with a spinning saucer, I'd buy it. It would go very well with my refit Connie.

I'd actually love to get into the Eaglemoss stuff, particularly the Disco stuff. But frankly, they're too pricey and I just don't have the room or the desire to dust them all.

This doesn't really say anything, as the market has shifted and even Star Wars doesn't move merchandise like it used to.

And I'm someone that would've bought the phaser if it had been released. I also have five of the arrowhead badges.

I would. I’m sure there’s more. I know this isn’t the 90’s anymore, the Playmates-era is over, but still: I’d love to see a few of them!

Rumor was that it was too "gun like" even with the orange tip.

QMx is supposed to be making one as well, it'll likely be a solid piece (i.e. no electronics, like their 09/ID phaser), and retail around $80-100.

That's too bad. I was impressed with their Kirk action figure. Got it standing next to my Diamond Select TOS Enterprise.

I never bought that rumor.......how can others make an exact replica but McFarland can't? I think Anovos was pissed that it would cut into sales of their overpriced $500 version if people could get the same thing for $40.

I thought the McFarlane stuff was meant for the adult collector. "Too gun-like" shouldn't be an issue.

That doesn't make much sense either, as obviously Anovos didn't sign an exclusive agreement on the phaser. McFarlane probably just got cold feet about how profitable it was going to be.

I printed my own and painted it up. I am happy with it and didn't have to shell out $500.

^That's my guess. That's the downside of NicheTrek.

McFarlane claims they didn’t want to sell it with an orange tip because it ruins the authenticity

Which is a poor excuse. Most folks would've popped off the orange cap in a minute and got someone to 3D print a replacement.

The orange cap excuse really falls flat when there were supposed to be four more figures coming that are nowhere in sight (Burnham, TOS Spock, L'Rell, Saru).
