Georgia Tennant announced on Twitter today that David Tennant is launching a new podcast called "David Tennant Does a Podcast with..." Guest stars in podcasts already recorded include Jodie Whitaker, Krysten Ritter, Michael Sheen, Olivia Colman, Ian McKellen, Whoopi Goldberg, Samantha Bee, Jon Hamm, and Gordon Brown. No release date yet but you can already subscribe wherever you get podcasts. I've been listening to a lot of podcasts in the last few months so this is right up my alley. Plus, that's one hell of a guest list to start with!
Correction: It came out today and it was with Olivia Colman. Great conversation between the two of them and you could tell that they're really good chums. Next week is Whoopi!
Looking forward to this: https://www.instagram.com/p/BtnkAnVnjyA/?utm_source=ig_share_sheet&igshid=1i7vqeq847r67
And it's out wherever you get your podcasts (or, if you must, you can get it from iTunes)! It's such a lovely conversation between old friends who now also share that very special experience of becoming The Doctor. Plus, Jodie revealed that her high school guidance counselor tried to convince her to not pursue acting, much to the ire of Jodie's mum! Next week is Sir Ian McKellen!
Listening to it now, I get why she was cast as the Doctor. You have to be a great actor AND a brand ambassador. You have to like being out there, interacting with fans. Clearly she loves to do that.
Her episode was quite charming. She seems delightful. I do hope we get some *more* Jodie in the Doctor over series 12 and 13.
It was wonderfully charming as we all expected it to be. I'm loving Tennant's interviewing style. He's really good at relating with his guests, engaging them and directing the conversation, and then sitting back to let the guest talk about their experiences, often about their upbringing. Next week is Jon Hamm.
Yeah, I'm listening to it now. McKellen is such a great cat to listen to. I love his chuckle. Alec Baldwin also does a good job on interviewing people on his podcast... I wonder if it's something about actors. To be a good one, you have to listen and observe. You have to have a natural curiosity about people. Jon Hamm should be interesting as well.
Although I've skipped this week (don't know John Hamm from Adam), I've been really enjoying his podcast. The episode with Whoopi Goldberg was particularly outstanding. He has a disarming manner which works very well for getting the guest to chat.
Yeah, I was surprised how much I enjoyed that one, too, especially since I know very little about Brown's politics and history other than what filtered through into the States (and not even much of that). I didn't have much interest in watching Camping before listening to this week's episode, but after hearing Tennant and Garner's relaxed rapport, I might give it a go.
I started watching Camping then realised there is 2 versions, British and American. Tennant isn't in the British one.
