Is Discovery about to involve Time Travel and also Picard.

I should note their might be some spoilers or at least small spoilers from the last episode. In the episode it was hinted the Red Angels might be connected to Time Travel. We also see Tyler use his comm badge like a TNG communicator. I got a few theories.

1 Section 31 has access to future tech. Maybe it even uses time travel. If they do go with Control being a computer that seems like tech that might come from the future. This will somehow lead to a arc that ends with the Discovery going to the future and stopping the Red Angels. Maybe even Picard shows up in the final episode or episodes to help.

2 What they stay in the future and this is change that plan on sticking with? It does get back to the original idea about how the show was going to deal with different timelines. It also stops having to worry about matching up with TOS tech. It also allows the Georgiou show stand on it's own and sort of represent this era and since they won't be traditional Starfleet you don't half to worry to much about the TOS look, especially if you mostly dealing with aliens.

3 The Section 31 show will be the future. I kind of like the idea of them even finding away to bring Sloan back to life and make him part of the show. Sloan and Georgiou would make for interesting partners.

Either Section 31 really is a corrupt organization, in which case they can't have access to time travel (they would have already wreaked havoc with it), or they aren't one and therefore they wouldn't use time travel.

I don't think he'll appear. If he does, anyone who right now thinks he will can pull the "I told you so!" card. You'll be well within your rights.

But I don't think he'll appear in DSC. Not because I think "They'd never do that!" but because with all the Star Trek series they want to put out, the odds of him appearing in this particular one are a lot smaller. Will he appear in another new series besides his own? Probably.

Not necessary. Even if they think they do the things they do for the right reasons. Messing with the timeline can be tricky if you do it to much to a point where you screw things up like Annarox on "Voyager." It's also why I don't think the Borg really seem to use it even though they can. In fact my whole belief with "First Contact" is the Borg know they have to go back to be defeated in order for the timeline to happen as it happens. They are basically going through the motions in order to keep time the way it's suppose to play out.

I have faith that DSC won't involve time travel, and that nothing from The Picard Show will appear in IT...but that doesn't preclude things moving in the other direction, and having Picard pick up a plot thread that started in DSC.

Even if Picard himself doesn't show up some element of his show might be used. Like a mention of what is happening with Romulus destroyed. Maybe a Red Angel was spotted on Romulus before it exploded.

They also said they wouldn't break the "in case of emergency" glass and hit the Spock/Enterprise appearance button... but they did just a few months later. They're going to do what they want to do regardless of what they themselves say publicly at an earlier date.
Very shortly after the last 2 show runners were fired they announced Spock. I think there's a connection there.

Side note: Is it true that the Picard show will just be called Picard?
I don't believe so.

I'd have to find it but there was an article in (I think) the Hollywood reporter with one of the Studio execs that said if something appears in Discovery, Netflix have first option on any spin-off shows going forward and so there were not going to mix elements to keep the licensing clear - I'll do a search for it...

It wouldn’t surprise me if time travel is involved in some form or fashion before the end of the season. But connecting with the Picard show doesn’t seem likely to me.
