Could this be set in the Kelvin timeline?

1. because it is 2019 and a redisgn to make them look more alien is appreciated
2. who supposes they look like humans? to paraphrase Roddenberry: They've always looked like that
Enterprise did a two-part story about the Klingons, and Disco references Enterprise repeatedly and explicitly. Apparently the Disco writers gave up after "In a Mirror, Darkly" but before the reached "Affliction"/"Divergence"

Forgetting the changes in Klingons and how it’s been handled for a moment, what about the Romulan brow ridges in TNG?
I've always assumed there were Romulans in the 24th century who didn't have ridges. After all, Spock walked around the streets of Romulus publically displaying his smooth forehead and no one was like "where the hell are his ridges?"

They were too star struck.

A silly choice (and nonsensical, given only 2000 years divergeance) but far less noticeable than the Klingons which have completely different skin and bodies.
Comes from too much hard thinking.
A century of constant frowning, after the Federation foils their schemes again and again.

It's in the dialogue of The Neutral Zone:

TEBOK [on viewscreen]: Captain Picard, because your actions are those of a thoughtful man, I'll you this. Matters more urgent caused our absence.

Clearly, they all off getting ridge jobs. It was the fashion rage sweeping the Empire.

The two problems being that they had them in Enterprise - ie. they had ridges both before and after TOS - and identical appearance to Vulcans was a plot point in Balance of Terror.

That makes TOS the canon outlier.

Too much Botox.

This is not the Kelvin Timeline. At all. Like, not even close.

The Enterprise alone should tell people that. It's basically the TOS Enterprise with a CBS All Access twist. It may not visually line up with TOS the way it probably should but the idea that this is somehow the Kelvin Timeline and the producers just don't want to tell us is pretty insane.
