News Rebecca Romijn As Number One

At first I thought that was some kind of modernist building, like the exterior of Sarek and Amanda's house that we saw the interior of in S2E1. Man, I loved that house.

Kor
Man, for a 23rd Century Command chair there sure is a lot of wiring in that thing.
One would surmise that Wi-Fi would be a hell of a lot more reliable by then.
;)

I think the Discovery bridge will probably be closer to the original series bridge than the Kelvin verse bridge.

Maybe the refit that the Enterprise is currently undergoing will explain the differences in the bridge in between The Cage and Where No Man Has Gone Before. No more paper printouts!
I actually joked on my Discovery podcast that it would be funny if, as a result of the time in space dock, the Enterprise ends up looking exactly as she does in TOS.

I actually wouldn't be surprised if the Enterprise got updated. This season seems intent on ripping up the carpet on some of season one's less popular decisions.

Well, Pike wants the Holo Communicators ripped out and to go back to old fashioned View Screens!
Now we just have to wonder if this is a fleetwide change, or just specific to Enterprise (or perhaps Enterprise and her Constitution sisters).

I would assume that the directive to rip them out would be spread across all "Constitution Class vessels".

That would fit with cannon, and given IRL, if a system doesn't work in a class of plane / ships / etc, usually they don't integrate it on that model.

I wonder how much of it will be green-screen?
Perhaps They only built the chair and what's directly behind it like was done in "RELICS".
Well, the Producers have gone on record that one of the reasons they built the full Discovery Bridge (with usable by the cast screens and interfaces that they can operate and film in real time on set) was because they know audiences are looking for and able to tell when they 'green screen' it to a degree that only a vestige of a physical set it there.

So, yeah, I'd be surprised if they something to that degree for a 1701 Bridge Set shot; but you never know. My guess is they'd redress the Shenzou Bridge set again (like they did for the Section 31 ship bridge set.) <--- And who knows: If Kurtzman stays true to the TOS canon that says "The Enterprise was the ONLY Federation ship to visit Talos IV" - we may have a few episodes of ST: D where Pike takes the 1701 back to Talos IV with Spock and some principal ST: D characters on board - thus they'll need a full Bridge set. ;)

The first DSC novel I think mentioned that the Enterprise didn't use them because of bandwidth or security reasons.
