News Rebecca Romijn As Number One

Last year there was someone on this forum who made a big deal over Tilly having a burrito, that such food was against canon and was only done to "appeal to the youth". I wonder how he felt about Number One ordering a cheeseburger.

Brown sauce always on chips. :)
Was she stated in the Cage that she was an alien? Could they be playing her as a human here?

She could be Centauran - they're supposed to be human in outward appearance, highly rational and in control of their emotions, though not through repressing them like Vulcans. But there's no onscreen evidence of that, or that we've ever seen a Centauran (the race was posited as Zephram Cochrane's species given his ".... of Alpha Centauri" moniker in his TOS appearance, later retconned that he just moved there). Some speculated that the blonde officer who replaced Uhura at comms in at least one TOS ep was Centauran due to her calm demeanor but that's probably not supported either.

Most folks are more excited about the character of Number One being fleshed out after 50+ years.
The fact that Romjin is playing her, is just icing on the cake.
:techman:

Many if not most of them probably don't even know about the existence of "The Cage".

Since we are mostly taking about people who have watched this particular episode in the last couple of days, I think it can safely be assumed that anybody who posts here, has a pretty good idea who Number One is and which TOS episodes she came from.

Shameless plug for this BBS' own @gazomg and his imagining of Franz Joseph's Alpha Centauri logo
