That was in my opinion, by far, the worst episode of Discovery yet. I understand they had to tie up loose ends, but man. So boring. I have liked every other episode of Discovery at the very least. Loved a few.

That's ok, though. Every series has it's stinkers.

While I agree it was bad. I don't think it was boring, unless you are completely not invested in the STD characters...

Which I can understand.

Not really a fan of that episode. It was ok, but it lacked focus and there was too much happening. I didn't really understand the Klingon storyline other than to get Ash out of Quo'nos.

This episode gets a 5 from me. Also, I was a little confused about What Burham did that drew the ire of Amanda. It was like they were talking, then stopped, then Amanda decided to take things into her own hands.

There were some solid moments in this episode, dark as it was.

Tilly crying broke my heart, of course. I love Tilly, and so seeing her in distress bothers me immensely. That said, Mary Wiseman plays her breakdown and anguish so well. I was glad when Michael got her to focus, and to realize she wasn't going crazy. Also, Stamets for the win. ♥

Seeing Amanda was a plus, and I like the way Mia Kirshner interprets her as a character. Nicely done.
I'm also curious to find out just what Michael had done to estrange herself from Spock.

I like the look of the Klingons and their world. I also think the hair will help acclimate everyone to their current design, though I didn't care too much either way before.

That said:

Finally figuring out what happened to the spore that landed on her uniform was gratifying, and so I figure her friend is from the mirror universe where Stamets is evil Stamets or something, and so the Stamets we're seeing is not the real one... not sure.

Finding out Voq and L'Rell had a child was a new one, and I'm sure we'll get a famous name drop on just who the child is at some point.

That said, definitely didn't like the entrails spilling on the floor in graphic detail, or the vaporized Klingons splattering blood and tissue everywhere as they exploded. I definitely disliked the severed baby head moment, which dragged it down for me because I really don't like that kind of thing at all. This isn't Game of Thrones, I don't want it to be Game of Thrones.

Also, Section 31 is back, and there's a pit of annoyance in my stomach.

This episode rated a Genuine 5 for me. Some decent moments and interesting character details uncovered, but the darker and unsavory elements brought it down.

Worst episode of the season so far. I really wish they'd stop with the Klingon politics crap. And the less said about Section 31, the better – it plays like an edgelord teenager's idea of what a "cool" spy agency is like.

I might have enjoyed the shipboard stuff more if any of it had been a complete story. We got to the major development in the Tilly/spore storyline and then it just...stopped. When the closing credits rolled, I was genuinely surprised the episode was over because nothing felt like an ending.

So, Amanda and Michael and Spock: good, but not enough of it.
Tilly and Spores: promising, but half baked.
Klingons: ...not quite as awful as season 1?
Section 31: dear God, make it stop.

So. Yeah. Weaksauce this week.

We need JG Hertzler and Robert O’Reily to play some Klingons. That’ll bring back the feel.

Finally back to form. Easily the best of the S2 episodes yet, almost as good as the best episodes of S1.
The scenes on Qo'noS had a very GoT feel to them, while being very familiar and Klingon. More of this and less of last week and S2 would make me very happy.

On the MB and Spock relationship, we are in mystery box territory. I hate mystery boxes. I just know the answers are never worth the wait.

I hated the editing of this episode, the weird angles and the constant cuts.

Seciton 31 has the feeling of being from conspiracy sites, with the head agency known as CONTROL.
