THE ORVILLE S2, E3: "HOME"

It was both sad and beautiful.

P.S.

Tasha's death not the worst example of character departure in Trek universe. Look at Kes, Trip Tucker or Jadzia.
Kirk. A bridge fell on him.

I mean, is that the best they could come up with to end the story of James T. F’n Kirk? What complete and utter bullshit.

I adored this episode. I will admit it made me tear up a few times. Goodbye to a talented young actress. I hope we see her again

Most lives end with little to no fanfare. Unlike many of the heroes in our stories, people die alone, they're killed with barely a whimper, and it's over so quickly people don't realize it until it's done and that life has gone. Think of all the "redshirts" who died after one disruptor blast and then became free floating atoms. I think Tasha's death was, relatively speaking, more realistic.
yeah, but she'a a 'Security Chief' - and SUPPOSEDLY trained in tactical thinking, yet, when a god-like being warns her, her response is "Enough!...We have given you good reason..." annd she just obliviously stomps over the line in the sand and is summarily killed...

My question at that point: How did she get the posting and WTF did Picard see in her?

In every military/tactical situation she was usually the one making either ridiculous suggestions or acting without thinking. There were many reasons Denise Crosby wanted to leave, but I'm sure one had to have been - "The Writing staff really has no idea on how to write a competent militarily trained character."

Solid episode. Good turn from Billingsley. "Why don't you use your hands?" Gorgeous scenery. Suspenseful ending. Funny Patrick Warbuton.
