Discovery Enterprise came today. Got 1692-A/A on the base, so close to 1701...

Heh... yet another Disco ship sporting the ubiquitous Excelsior impulse deck fins. The VFX guys of this show really like that little detail, don't they?

And the XL Reliant arrived today. By far, the BEST model Eaglemoss has ever made, IMO.

Wow, that ship is beautiful. I wish I could justify the cost!

It's Eaves, he designed the Excel refit as well. The Sovereign which also has something similar.

The Excelsior refit impulse deck was inspired by an airplane I can't remember the name of ATM, I'll have to check my concept art book. Eaves takes a lot inspiration from airplanes when designing his Fed ships.

The Eaglemoss website updated the store page for the DSC Enterprise, it now shows the final model instead of the Prototype.

The fins were on the original NX-2000 and upgraded NCC-2000, pre-Eaves, and subsequently removed for the Enterprise-B/Lakota variant, but fair enough. He clearly liked that small bit of detailing.

Forgot to mention, I picked up the Xindi-Primate ship last Sunday. It's a rather mean-looking ship, considering that the Xindi-Primates were one of the more reasonable Xindi races and the ship itself wasn't seen until "E2" when they were debating coming around to our side.

It actually looks like the kind of ship you would've seen zipping around Coruscant in the Star Wars prequels. Not quite as memorable as some of the other Xindi ships we've seen, but happy to have it. (And still waiting on Degra's ship!)

And hopefully my local store gets the Lantree in soon.

Sorry to bang on about this but damn do I love the look of the Discoprise the more I see pictures of it online. Its a perfect blend of two of the best looking starships in Star Trek, the TOS and TMP Enterprise. From any angle it looks like a real beauty. Will pick it up one day but first I want the Akira xl.

I have Enterprise-J and remain in awe of the design. It does convince me that she's a 26th century ship that's more of a flying city with an impressive interior concept. Over two miles long with green parks inside, site-to-site transporters instead of turbolifts, holographic apartments and environments...including whatever bridge you want to project to work from! I'm floored by the design.

The diecast miniature lacks fine detail, yet I find it an enthralling sculpture.

I am in love with this ship the same way I fell for the original version of Kirk's ship forty-seven years ago. I like being a kid again.

I got my Discovery Enteprise and it does look quite good. Mine didn't have the magazine that is usually included. I just emailed them to see if it was supposed to be shipped separate. There was no mention of that on the web site so I think mine was just missing it.

Anyone else get the subscription offer for just the XL. I decided to since I was going to get most of them except the abomination refit (seriously WTF it’s my all time favorite ).

I wasn't really a fan of the Enterprise-J until I got the Eaglemoss ship. At the time, I got it just to have a post-24th Century Enterprise, but otherwise thought it was just a photoshopped and stretched out NX-01 and not much thought was put into it. Upon reading the magazine, I learned that wasn't the case and what we ended up with on screen was due to time and budgetary limitations. With the Eaglemoss ship, though, I was able to see Enterprise-J as it was probably meant to be and I kind of got what they were going with the design. I can even imagine other 26th-Century ships with its particular aesthetics.
