No. That's actually one of the few - perhaps the only - episode in the entire series where Scotty *is* affected by something troubling the whole crew.
I think I've blocked ATCSL out, which episode are you talking about yours or ATCSL?
My statement that you quoted refers to ATCSL. It isn't the episode I have in mind.

Spock rejects a junior officer's course of action.
Kirk makes a command decision of dubious integrity.
Scotty is key to the solution and is largely unaffected.
A security guard is not in a good position.
Fifth clue: when Spock rejects the junior officer's course of action, he is wrong, and it could have been a real problem, but doesn't end up mattering.
