Horses for courses - these series are certainly not aimed at the grumpy old fart demographic anyway. As one gets older, many things have to drop by the wayside to make time for shouting at clouds.

I find these shows, particularly Legends, helps this old fart from becoming grumpy.

Indeed, speaking as a card-carrying member of AARP, I like to think that I'm getting sillier as I get older, and don't take things nearly as seriously as I used to.

And one of the nice things about the CW shows is that they do throw in Easter Eggs for us "old farts."

"Holy Nostalgia! It's the Shakespeare bust from the old Adam West show!"

Fair enough. No one has to watch silly TV (or any TV, really). But some of us old farts seek a break from such heavy reading (I'm usually up to my eyeballs in obscure historical manuscripts and monographs, so I'll take a few hours of silliness).

Not true. As a older person you think one would love a time travel show that gets to take you back in time to time periods you once lived in.

Not really, because seeing times that still feel recent in our memories portrayed as some remote, exotic past just makes us feel old. Either that, or we notice how inauthentic and exaggerated the portrayal is.
