"Grounded" probably means a crapload more of chit-chat and a whole lot less action.

I think it basically means less sci-fi weirdness, more character drama.

I have a feeling it's going to be a much smaller scope, character-driven show that won't be about traveling the galaxy. It will probably focus on Picard in some role or other on Earth. Good drama and acting, but not a lot of fun or sci-fi adventure.
