“Jean-Luc Picard is back”: will new Picard show eclipse Discovery?

    I think it basically means less sci-fi weirdness, more character drama.

    Maybe it is a one man show, like Stewart's version of A Christmas Carol that caught Bob Justman's eye all those years ago? That would be something unique and worth giving a try.

    Drop the B and you have "All Good Thugs". It's the prequel to "All Good Things", where Picard gets stabbed by the Nausiccans. Coming to you on CBS All Access in 2020.

    I have a feeling it's going to be a much smaller scope, character-driven show that won't be about traveling the galaxy. It will probably focus on Picard in some role or other on Earth. Good drama and acting, but not a lot of fun or sci-fi adventure.

    Which might be interesting, but probably disappointing and boring for me.


    It'll probably end up being "Shakespeare in Space", which the Klingons will love.
