What a HUGE shock..........the latest update, right at the end LFIM drops that there is someone else filming on the sets in 2019.......So that means there will be ONE thing being filmed on the sets, cause I really doubt Axanar will be filming anytime soon.

The cries of "shill!" are starting to appear. JP seems to be favoriting the pro-Axanar comments regardless of their basis in reality. I think he's a lost cause for now, and seems to have chosen just who will butter his bread going forward.

Wow, I just saw. I get to punch that one on my card.
The comments are the saddest part. All CBS/Discovery hate. Can you not be a fan of the Axanar idea and still enjoy a TV show? I mean I was a fan of Prelude until all the mismanagement stuff came out and Gossett and all the talent left. Oh and when LFIM tried to slam Tony Todd on Twitter. That was classy.

I should be surprised to see people actively championing the guy who cons people out of their money as being called "real," and the "the one true" something. I mean, Trump got elected. That, alone, should have shattered my faith in people's ability to recognize a con artist when they see one.

Yep. It all started off as mild discontent with Discovery, and I have quibbles with the show, too. The problem is that JP seems to be siding with anyone who took a direct punch at CBS, which Axanar did, and managed to essentially get away with it.

It's so bizarre to me that people still are on board with his claims of being "real Star Trek" even though he has not done anything to substantiate his claim and had not produced a damn thing after years and years and millions of dollars wasted.

Weird how Egotastic is all about Axanar and Anti-Discovery, but then also says this in his own comments

That's the thing. It's 99.9% Anti-CBS, Anti-Discovery, and now this pro-Axanar as "real Trek" and favoriting all of the pro-Axanar comments, and then this .01% statement. It's like saying "this show is the worst thing in the world, it's awful, obscene, profane, and a blight on all humanity," and then adding "but I'll give it another chance next season."

Just like being a backup QB on a bad NFL team. Everyone is sure you're the answer to all the problems.

As long as you are anti-Discovery, anti-Abrams and anti-CBS then you can be real Star Trek.
This. There's no way he doesn't know about it now, either. People, including myself, have posted links to the court cases, to Carlos' site, and have recommended other fan projects like Continues, and there's no shift away from Axanar, or at the very least there's no open consideration that maybe he's backing the wrong horse.

I think the fact that CBS knew about Continues and New Voyages, and pretty much left them alone for years before Axanar, tells you a lot about Axanar and the people involved.
It really amazes how quick people were to turn on CBS, sure they sued Axanar, but they also gave us 50+ years of Star Trek episodes, movies, books, comics, and pretty much every other piece of merchandise imaginable. I would think the later would be more than enough to make up for the former. I know I'm always going to be thankful to them for all the countless hours of entertainment they've given me, and hopefully will continue to give me for a long time to come.

It's a cult.
This ^^^^

It's the old joke, somewhere amongst all the pewp, there's got to be a pony. Sunk cost fallacy, often quite literally. And people who want desperately to be seen as rational, mature, and smart, who cannot admit to an error in judgment and now it is so blown out of proportion that their ego is tied up in it. They'll go down with the ship, because to admit they were wrong would be to admit fallibility.
