Oops! I didn't see it. It's just, I've been watching JP since he first started, and he's always been a blast. Now he seems to be falling down the rabbit hole of "this isn't real Star Trek," where he initially just disliked Discovery. If he starts getting lots of people who are anti-CBS/anti-Discovery, then I think he'll begin to mold his opinions to that. His Orville commentaries are fun, but I won't stick around to be in a toxic Axanar atmosphere.
 
I just watched an Egotastic FunTime! video the other day for the first time, the one on the Ent-J, just because it wound up in my recommended viewing. But after this, eh... I'm gonna be passing on JP most likely. Axanar is the "legit real Star Trek" I've been actually wanting?!? Please.

Exactly. I won't lie, Alec is very good at preying on the wants and hopes of Trek fans. I started out wanting Axanar to be awesome years ago. I loved the people in it, loved the production values, and who is this Peters guy? Well I was going to find out, and how quickly he managed to turn a nice concept into a pile of crap that pulled hundreds of thousands from fans who just wanted some good Star Trek.

So like I said, love his Orville stuff, but if he's going to go down the pro-Axanar route, he will begin to start pushing away dissenters, because Peters has that effect on some people, especially those who are dissatisfied with CBS and their shit-tastic service.
 
Yeah, I saw that video today too. I really wish he wouldn't praise the Axanar project without acknowledging the massive (self inflicted) issues that it has. Ragging on the stupidity of DISCO is one thing but praising Axanar like its 2014 is a whole other ball of wax. He's one of the few channels that covers the Orville so I've long been a subscribed despite not particularly liking his gonzo wacky style and I hope he sticks to covering that instead.

Exactly. What gets me is he's never heard of Star Trek Continues, so he's probably new to the whole modern Trek fanfilm community. That's usually where Axanar sucks people in, and we see things like "BEST PRODUCTION VALUES EVER! BETTER THAN SHITSCOVERY!" and so on.

Considering Alec has stated multiple times they probably WON'T be using said Bridge set for "AXANAR" it amounts to Alec announcing: "No real progress (as per usual) on the actual project the Backers pledged for; but hey, we have a cool pile pf plywood they can come see if they're in the area and kiss my ass enough..."

God, I've actually gotten hit by that one two or three days in a row. Luckily I'm aware enough to have never fallen for it.

They called members of my family at other houses with that bullshit, and my family would call our house to see if either myself or my dad were in trouble with the IRS (we have the same name). I had to keep telling them it was a scam. It went on for weeks.
 
He's a goofball. I love goofballs. The problem is that he's been heading down the anti-Discovery path really fast, and has picked up a few hitchhikers along the way. When it was just Orville goodness, he was a blast to watch, but he's getting more and more negative these days.
